My wife and I are planning on attending the "Ralley on the Rocks" event in Moab this May, and I was checking out some of the YouTube video's from last year. MAN!!! Are you kidding me? Most of those guys don't even wear helmets while climbing incredible angles. I don't think I would even attempt any trail rated over a 3 or so! Especially with a manual tranny. What I'm wondering is Troopers have a history of breaking axles and driveshafts right?. Do you think casual off roading on sandstone with mega traction will cause a breakage? I don't clutch dump ever (knowing that there are some weak links in the drivetrain.) What do ya think? I probably should pick up an extra drive shaft before going huh!

You ought to take a spare rear diff :) really though as long as rear driveshaft is cv style and not ujoint then you should be ok. Or take a lesson from me and pack in a extra timing belt

Sounds like Snowman just HAPPENS to have one for sale...........

Actually I'm waiting till I have some time to look at the drive shaft and see if it's a CV type. It's an 08' so I'm keepin my fingers crossed that it is the CV type. :(

When I snapped off my tranny output shaft at Moab, it was my fault. Before that I had climbed everything everybody else had and some easier. Most trails have a secondary route around the harder route. Check ahead of time with who ever is running the event, they will / should know.

But as anything outside and 18 years old it needs seats ! The thing I have found wrong mechically the Diff. Lock Acturtor is broken where it mounts to the bracket ( partly why Im here ) . Hoping someone here can help  ! Just my wish list but Id like to find a roll cage and a composit/plastic top for it Im thinking I'll need a donor to salvage these things from ( again partly why Im here ) .Is there another brand that uses this same actuator? Just wondering if mine is the only one that’s seems very loud while driving. It just seems louder that other brands I’m use to. I guess you get what you pay for I’m assuming.

I use my Hisun 550 (with the Coleman stickers), for general work around my 10 acres of hilly land. Hauling firewood, some dirt and mulch, and debris clean up. Also felling dead standing trees in the woods and hauling rounds out to the barn for splitting/stacking.
Here's my question:  Those who use their UTVs with towed drag implements or snow plows, have you noticed any issues with early clutch slippage or failures?  Or premature belt wear?  Other drive line issues??
Thanks in advance for any experienced thoughts and comments.

That's the question! Or, if you want to add details:
      (a) How do you use the UTV? (roads? off-road to get to trees? etc.)
      (b) If you are wearing a helmet--how frequently? What type of helmet?

My own answers: (a) Most of the time off-road to get to downed trees, cut the trees to logs and haul the logs back for splitting. (b) Very rarely, a ski helmet and not a motorcycle helmet.
