Our Troopers shift mechanism is very tight and the cables are all pretty new and in good condition, it's lubricated but it is still very stif to operate, is this normal? If not can someone give me a clue to what would cause this? I tried the obvious that's why I'm asking.

Thanks,

Tony

My trooper shifts great, ,, locking differentials are easy, exactly what is hard shifting? transmission?differentials? I'm not a mechanic, just driver.

See you are selling trooper,, wish we lived closer, would buy. Have buds who want one.

Mine is tight and you have to hit the gear nearly perfect. I drove Lenny's and his shifts easier than mine. Mine was a little easier/better before I had the trans work done.

I can ship it to you, my company gets great rates, I could always check.

It feels like the shifter binds, I may have to disconnect each cable to see if that is where the friction is?

Let me know if your friend is interested.

Thanks,

Tony

Same here, third gear has to be dead on, yours too?

Any idea how much shipping would be?

My only shifting prob, is when I'm trying to speed shift into 3rd, sometimes goes to 5th.

what are you asking for the trooper? where are you located?

Rick,

Just found out that the company we use does not ship vehicles. There are many in the US that do so no crating is required. I will have my office make a few calls, and you may do the same if you want. Our zip code is- 33852 and we are located in Lake Placid Florida.

I have a loading dock and fork lift so loading is no problem. The weight is 1800 pounds I think. Length about 8' and width about 5'. That should be enough info for a solid quote.

You can always call me at: 800 444-1995 Just let the girls know what it is in reference to.

Thanks,

Tony C.

No prob,, I'm old, I screw up alot!! Just saw you had it wrong,,, appreciate all your input,,,Quig

Yea I'm getting there, can't see straight anymore, can't spell (never could), I always hired people better than myself, and got away with it for over thirty years now. I beginning to wonder how long I can go on, I'm having a difficult time finding the smarter younger ones.

Rick,

I'll take $5000.00 for it. I also have some spare parts like a starter, cables, some hydrolics.

Here's what is wrong. By the way it runs great. I also added a good quality K&N filter piped up.

1)- Time to address the diffs, I have one kit that I will include. (shims, hardware the $100.00 kit)

2)- Front 4WD actuator crapped-out

The condition is great as well, it s yellow. Has the spare tire mounted on the rear cargo thing. Tires are in good condition at least 60% left.

It's a nice product just too much for me with my life demands to keep up on it. We also live in a sugar sand area and I think I am going to get her an automatic 4WD big 4-wheeler, one of those family models.

Thanks,

Tony

As with any forum you join, there is a requirement for an obligatory introduction... and that seems fair. How else do you get that first post in there without jumping in with some stupid question right out of nowhere?

Hi. I'm Space Ghost. Well, not really, but that was my call sign on my last deployment before an IED made me non-deployable, and I an now retired/disabled, and living on my wonderful VA disability. I did almost 28 years in total between the Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard. 1 deployment with the Reserve (Desert Storm) and 3 with the Guard (1 pre, and 2 post 9/11)

Married (going on 30 years) one of each. (both out of the nest)

Just picked up my first side by side a couple days ago. A 2020 Can-Am Defender HD10 DPS 6x6.

It's in pretty good shape, but as you can probably tell, it's sitting a bit high. Former owner put a lifting collar on the shocks.

The good = almost 17" of ground clearance. (30" tires)
The bad = incredibly steep driveline angles, and a pretty stiff ride.

      They will be coming off.

Other than that... clean as a pin and appears very well maintained.

Looking forward to seeing what this forum can bring, and hoping I can bring something in return.

We see a lot of the UT400 with shift problems, not going into gear, popping out of gear, grinding etc. There  is a bulletin Im sure everyone has saw about adjusting shift cable.  That dont always fix it.  I went round n round with coleman  on couple units. We are a Coleman warranty repair center"AFS Small Engine Repair "   I told them shift lever does not have enough travel .  No amount of cable adjustment  will increase travel . I  extended lever with piece on flat  iron by 3/4 of inch .  This gave shifter enough travel to properly engage into gear completely .  Last couple units to come in for this Coleman sent me a modified shift lever, with longer travel . Problem solved! Also , heads up if you get any new unit ,,,go over and check it out,  grease  all zerks, check air filter for being in backwards, check wiring harnesses for rubbing on rotating parts,  brake hose  routing , make sure not touching exhaust .  These are just  few of the more common failures I see .

Just wondering if mine is the only one that’s seems very loud while driving. It just seems louder that other brands I’m use to. I guess you get what you pay for I’m assuming.

      Hello All...
Just bought a 2014 Massimo 500 UTV.  It;s not running at the moment, but hopefully will soon.  I need a seat for it also (passenger side, if it makes any difference.)  It is a crank-but no start situation.  Just now starting to read the boards for solutions.  Apparently these models are well known for this issue.  If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to chime in, it would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks
