Worlds first UTV!

Not sure if anybody realised I changed my UTV Brand in my profile box left to Gnat. Just in case you think that is a mosquito like insect, it’s not.

I think that it may very well be the first UTV and was made right here in New Zealand. It was built in the 50s before Quads and Farm bikes were around and because of it’s seating configuration and a reverse gear, it is a UTV not a ATV. John Deere were probably before this in some shape or form. Do you think it could make a comeback?

Well once you see the photo you know there wont be a comeback. These were used on farms in NZ around the 50s right through to the early 70s but unsure if they would of been overly helpful or not. They were fun to drive apparently.

Hi Mike,

After looking at the photo, I have to agree it is highly likely there is not going to be a comeback. DON"T invest any funds in this adventure, LOL!
