I'm new to the whole UTV thing, in my younger days I had rail buggies, 3 wheelers, and dirt bikes. Now I wanted something with a more uses but still fun. I picked up an 07 Arctic Cat Prowler 650 H1 XT this summer, it came with a factory winch, soft top & doors. I've added turn signals (we can drive on streets) Eagle "72 snow plow. Now I'm in need of tires, going to start a thread on which ones I'm considering hope to see some feedback.

I will be purchasing my first UTV as well within a couple of weeks when I return to Az, specifically Apache Junction. I also rode motor cycles, 3 wheeler Yamahas'. Looking for a UTV club to join if there are any such organizations. Thanks. Don

Welcome to the crazy world of UTV's! I'm relatively new to this sport too. I spent my younger days getting high, listening to music and chasing females :P ! Good luck with the tire search. I use Discount Tire for all my tire needs. They supplied me with 30" Rocky Mtn AT's for extra clearance on my 08 Joyner T4 (see, I'm still getting high!). Have fun and watch this forum for loads of good info.

I've been looking for some tires also. The 30's you found fit the stocks rims or did you replace the rims also. A link would be great since I didn't actually find what you previously posted.

I bought my sled used and it came with extra wheels + 31" tires. They were too big so i dropped 1" and they just fit. Very happy with them but I don't get into sand. Won't be good for that but this opens up more options for tires. Good luck!

PS: I will post pics later

Wheels--http://www.visionwheel.com/wheel.cfm?id=476 CORRECTION: mine are the 15" x 8"

Thanks. I see the rims and the tires both Last question I hope didn't you have to have a smaller rim on the front so you don't rub the a-arm or are you using the same tire all around.

As with any forum you join, there is a requirement for an obligatory introduction... and that seems fair. How else do you get that first post in there without jumping in with some stupid question right out of nowhere?

Hi. I'm Space Ghost. Well, not really, but that was my call sign on my last deployment before an IED made me non-deployable, and I an now retired/disabled, and living on my wonderful VA disability. I did almost 28 years in total between the Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard. 1 deployment with the Reserve (Desert Storm) and 3 with the Guard (1 pre, and 2 post 9/11)

Married (going on 30 years) one of each. (both out of the nest)

Just picked up my first side by side a couple days ago. A 2020 Can-Am Defender HD10 DPS 6x6.

It's in pretty good shape, but as you can probably tell, it's sitting a bit high. Former owner put a lifting collar on the shocks.

The good = almost 17" of ground clearance. (30" tires)
The bad = incredibly steep driveline angles, and a pretty stiff ride.

      They will be coming off.

Other than that... clean as a pin and appears very well maintained.

Looking forward to seeing what this forum can bring, and hoping I can bring something in return.

      Hi,
      New to the forum.
Came here looking for some experienced UTV users who can enlighten me about which brand should I pick for my very first UTV or SXS.
      I'm between 3 brands and 3 models:
      *Kawasaki MULE PRO-FXR   1000.
      *Yamaha wolverine rmax2.
      *Can am Commander XTP.
The use I'm willing to give it is mostly to go to the range with my wife, load steel targets and all our shooting gear, we shoot a lot, rifles, Shotguns and Handguns for practice, training and competition. (Range is about 10 miles from home)
But also I want something that I can take to the trails and have fun on dirt, mud, rocks, puddles or creeks.
Any objective information will be appreciated, specially which is more reliable and durable.
Thank you and happy 4th of July.

I purchased a 2008 American Sportsworks Subaru TW265 UTV, with no manual and no previous knowledge. When idling, the steer column shakes uncontrollably, is very noisy, and might be from vibrations from the engine. Logically, I am thinking engine vibration moving up the steering column. I found a schematic, but that has not helped in identifying the specific problem.
      Any thoughts? Suggestions?
      Thanks so much
