    • Put it back together

I have a nearly complete second 2009 Joyner Trooper T2. I originally bought it for parts but when I got it home because it was so complete started thinking of putting it back on the road. (Like I need another project) What would you do? If I parted it out the parts would not be cheap as I did pay a pretty good sum for the thing.

Need to ask, before giving my thought.

you say "nearly complete" what is it needing? (i remember when you got it cause i went to jump on it but you had snapped it up. cant remember what it needed)

99.9% complete. I have since bought most of the missing parts. BUT I have so many projects and other interests it will be YEARS before I would ever get it together. It is stored inside so no problem with weather. Time is the biggest limiting factor. I bought it because as I have posted, at some point I have to modify my swing arm hubs or install the new ones that came on this T2. The T2 is brand new never registered. Was bought from Joyner with parts missing.

If it would not be much trouble to get it registered i would put up a third option. Sell it. If it was to take years as you say to get it together why waste it on just sitting letting what value there is to drop and maybe you will never get to it. Also If you part it out then you might end up spending as much time dealing with selling all the parts as you would if you had just gone ahead and put it together. (JMHO)

Thanks Rick for the input. I just hate seeing people need parts and I know I could fill the order. My time has slipped away with other projects and priorities so I am at the point of looking at other options. You know the saying, Best laid plans of mice & men go to C*ap, LOL!

I voted to get it on the road before reading how you are spread so thin with projects. My thoughts were to make that one your test bed for extreme changes before doing it to your primary ride.

But if your already thin, then I would agree with Rick and say sell it.

Might get a couple $$$ back from your investment and give a little more for your current project.

I can relate, my 240Z is currently close to being road ready and is getting priority right now. Joyner will be next and my r/c tanks are always trying to nickle/dime me to death....

Sucks being retired, huh ?

Isn't it really $50 and $100ed to death with a few hundreds of dollars items thrown in here and there. Seems being retired that projects come one after another without having to go to work to break the cycle. It's a nice place to relive your childhood, just a lot more expensive. Thats 2 years Showa that you missed the Jamboree. Guess we are going to have to come up with some sadistic torture to get you back on the straight and narrow. As far as Rocmoc goes, he could sell everything he has and in a couple of days he would be covered up with projects again. I know what that is like, don't know how to slow down. Never could and probably never will.

Hell I just wish a had a drop of the abilities you guys had. I rely on a mechanic herein Mexicali to help me. The tear down time of the trooper to part it out would be tough and you would be hanging on to it for some time before it is half gone.

Wouldn't be too bad after I took the parts I want, diffs, trans, motor, swing arms, axles, brake pads and a few more items. LOL, heck it sounds like I need to keep most of it. Things like gauges, body parts, gas tank, switches, cage, frame tube and the like are the things I would sale. My luck would be as soon as I sold a fender I would crunch one of mine on the Trooper and would be hunting for a replacement my sale at FULL price. Pricing is the tough part in my mind. Always tough to do business with friends. Want to give it away but ya can't. One thing is sure it is taking up valuable inside storage that would be nice for something else. Staring to feel like a hoarder or one of those guys the American Pickers would like to visit.

I'am having problems with my T2. I may need an ECU, are you interested in parting it out and how much?

lowgear,

fill in your profile and let us know where your located.Maybe we have someone nearby that you could switch ECU's with just to see if that is your problem before you purchase another.

My wife accidentally ran the Axis 500 into a fence and tore the front end up (broke her arm too). Just wondering where the best place to get front end parts? I know she busted the knuckle but haven’t jacked it up yet. Thanks guys for any help!

Looking for information on installing a OBD port or a lite to read codes in ECM.
I can not find a OBD port or a lite to read codes on this R2 with 800cc.
I have code readers and adapters for most ATV's. From what I've found so far. They don't have a connection for to read codes. I may be wrong. That's why I'm asking.
This R2 has had new IAC, TPS, MAP, fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump replaced. This was done by neighbor to try to stop surging. It still surges on start up and then settles down. But once you hit the accelerator it revs up to 2000+ rpm and stays till you block off IAC port in throttle body with finger. Once you do that it once again settles down and idles perfectly.
I want to know what the ECM is reading to help dio it.
This joyner is the first one I've run across. Well second one in a week. (my neighbors 2 of them) The other was a trooper with the 1100cc chery motor that had been setting for years. After cleaning up the fuse box connections. It runs like a top. Had to replace all gages with aftermarket gages. Water, oil, gas, amp. Only problem one was the water temp using original sending unit. Had to install 150 ohm resistor on the input wire to get it to read correctly + - 5 degrees. Close enough. Gas sending unit was/is for a boat tank 6" tall. All SS so it should last forever.
      thanks Dan D. aka staind

Ive searched and cannot find any performance parts that fit my machine.
      I have a 2020 coleman ut400.
Im looking for machined sheave kit, programmers, cdi, exhaust and intake.
I know these are yamaha rhino clones but are they rhino 450 clones?
