T2 Reving problems

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys! I have purchased a 2009 T2 from a member here and it has a issue with it...It will not rev fast at all and it acts like its out of time. I checked timing and it looked good. I tried putting my scan tool on it but it says failed.... I'm pretty sure its a sensor...... The plugs are black coated. If you mess with the fuel pressure it helps alittle but I know thats not the problem........Thanks in advance guys...Oh yeah what engine is this modeled after for parts like the sensors?

I would check the oxygen sensor in the exhaust. You could try switching the two sensors but that requires swapping the plugs which wouldn't be too hard. Also look at the map sensor in the intake plentum. If you look on google you can find out how to test these. Your obviously getting too much fuel or not enough intake air. Check your air filter for being clean. Also replace it if it is the stock filter with a K&N filter mounted up high out of the dust area. Most snorkle them up to the roof area. Probably check the Throttle position sensor too. These are the three sensors that the computer is going to look at for determining the fuel required. Your fuel pressure should be around 55 psi. Watch your fuel pressure as you try to rev up and look for any weird stuff going on.

The Ford Escort is close. It was copied form a european Ford engine that was popular for rally racing there. However it uses a standart engine computer by Bosch or Seimens, can't remember which. I would assume that it looks ofr signals that are standard fior mmost vehicles. This makes me think that most sensors could be adapted into the system and work fine but no guarntees.

Were are the marks on the timing belt to line up with the gears

There are not any marks on the timing belt. There is a mark on the lower pully that lines up with a mark or small bump on the block. This needs to line up when the mark on the top pulley is lined up with it's mark on the head or head cover. Go to JMCs site and download the manual, it shows the marks.

starts up you have keep rpms up for 5 minutes till it warms up then runs fine. But if it stalls wont start unless you unplug fuel pump and hold it to the floor till it starts then plug pump back in and run it till it warms up then it is fine all day.

When we first heard the noise, we immediately stopped driving it...at first we thought it might be a linkage issue, but after further inspection looks like the sound/jolting is coming from the rear diff. Took a video below...
Anyone know what is creating the diff to skip/jump like this? We drained the diff oil and didn't look terrible, no metal.
Other info that may be useful:
      1400 miles on it
      Recently tightened the E brake
P.s. never posted on this forum before, let me know if the video does not work

2022 Axis 700 overheating. We bled system several times, no luck yet. Weird thing is Radiator isn't getting hot and air coming into overflow jug. Doesnt seem like its moving water. Fan working fine, even wired it to turn on by switch. Only has 100 miles or so, just baffled. I am going to try bleeding more and see what happens. I did the head gasket test for fumes in the antifreeze, that was neg so far... Thanks

I got an old 2003 Arctic Cat 375 Auto, and just bought a 2008 AC 650 side by side. Got a new starter, solenoid, and battery for the 650. Gonna change the crankcase oil and filter while I'm at it.
Anything I oughta watch out for from them that's done the starter/solenoid on this model?
Don't have a manual yet for the 650. Any recommendations for oil weight/grade?
      Thanks.
