2 Cylinder tachometer?

I am thinking of eliminating the stock car dash in my Sand Spider, and just putting in a tach with a few indicator lights. Here's the rub: where do I get an inexpensive lightweight tach for a two cylinder gas engine? I'm eliminating the turn signals, and putting little LED warning lights for each of the indicators, like reverse, temp, etc., but want to monitor engine speed. Ideas?

frequency to voltage converter and a dc voltmeter, white out the dc volts on the face and put in rpm calibrated to you engine, look up LM2907-8 chiip http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets_pdf/L/M/2/9/LM2907N-8.shtml

Good luck, with a few draw programs, you should be able to make a nice dial face.

Any tac that picks up a pulse from the engine crankshaft should do it. The number of cylinders doesn't matter.
