new to the forum, had a 08 trooper t2 for 3 years and was online looking to see what was availabe for upgrades, seemed to find the most info on this site. have added 30" ZILLA's and a set of QA1 coil overs. i have ordered a silver bullet fuel controller and air / fuel ration gauge. i hope it performs as advertised. have had to replace the 4 wheel shifter ( was full of water ) and the fuel sender crapped out on the last ride. currently have about 1350 miles on it and my only real beef with it is all the rattles, they seem to pop up everywhere, fix 1 and you find a new one the very next day. thinking about power steering, does anyone have any recomendations on this ?

thanks

Welcome.

I had a '08. Yes they have more rattles than the rest because they used more wielded metal in the panels. What I had to do was caulk ALL the seams, floors, storage compartments under the seats (they were the worst), everywhere you can get to with the caulk (just get a good quality outdoor CLEAR caulk from Home Depot or local hardware store). Took care of most of the rattles except in the steering. That requires Lenny's steering upgrade kit or replace the steering rack. Hang in there, you will get most of them.

thanks rocmoc, winter is coming up here in alberta and i dont ride it in the snow, i think this winters projects will be to try your caulking, get the steering rack looked after and hopefully find a good electric power steering kit to install. i am also having the same oil pressure problem many other talk about so i think the cooler add on is in order.

The conversion took about 350lbs. off the vehicle.  It never rode great, but now I feel every  crack in the road.  I have backed off spring compression nut to the point just under where they would move around if suspension was at full extension, but it is still very stiff.  I would like to put some softer coilover springs on it, but I have no idea what the spring rate is with the original springs so I would just be guessing on what to order.  Does anyone have the data for the original spring compression rate?  I am willing to give up a little ground clearance for a softer ride. Right now when sitting still the rear suspension is at or near full extension and the rear tires have several degrees of camber which will cause uneven wear if allowed to continue in this state.

Recently I had an overheating issue on my 2022 Coleman Outfitter 550 (Hisun UT550) and to check to make sure it was fixed I took it out for a ride around the block. After a couple cycles on the LED coolant meter, I took it for a couple mile ride and on my way back I heard a loud metallic snap then a grinding noise. It was still able to move under its own power but very slowly. I was about 2 blocks from the truck so 'I limped it home and up onto the trailer. I know I need to tear it apart and look for what broke, but anyone have a guess as to where to start? I'm seriously getting tired of this damn machine! 750 miles on it and already replaced the belt, wet clutch, primary clutch, clutch roller weights among a few other things. Seriously, this friggin machine has spent more time on the lift than on the road. I thought I bought this new because it was from the owner of a tractor supply, but he registered it under the stores name making me the 2nd owner voiding any and all warranties.
Any Ideas what to look for would be appreciated.
      Thanks

Cleaned fuel filter and am replacing mechanical fuel pump. Unbolted but can't get fuel pump out. Shaft sticks out and fuel pump hits axle and won't come out. Anyone had this problem?

I added lights to the Coleman Outfitter 550 last fall.   I bought lights on line from Nilight, a 300 W  12" light bar mounted forward and 2 square 4" floods for the rear.  Those are mounted on the roof corners facing rear and downward just beyond the tailgate.  Nilights seem to be of high quality, as I've had them on my garden tractor for 5 years and still flood the way ahead with great light.
Both the front and rear lights provide amazing illumination making the OEM headlamps look like parking lights.  Made a connector for the front bar that plugs into existing headlamp switch so it is just part of that circuit controlled by the headlamp switch.   Rear work lamps were wired in using a rocker switch installed in the dash.  Backed up to the garden with the work lights and was able to harvest some tomatoes well past sunset.
What have you used if anything for auxiliary lighting on your UTV?
