Dedub, what fuel controller did you get?

Anyone change out injectors when they went to turbo?

i been haveing fuel controler maidfor turbo that has air line hook up to read boost an auto fuel up. i've not got them tested yet to set factary program waiting on some parts. the stock injector is 10#

I didn't know the stock injectors were that small. I'm running 28# injectors.

Are you making it out of the original fuel controller, or something altogether different?

Uuummm, not to sound totally stupid, but I'm not understanding about injectors. So how do you know what exact injector will fit the engine? Aside from lb rating, how do figure out which one we need, there are tons of different types and styles, what did you use to cross reference into a new. As for the 28# injectors, Lenny, I can't believe your running that big of injectors! A mildly built 350 TPI motor in my Trans Am is running 24# injectors. Are you running a really short injection pulse to compensate for the big injectors?

Trooper uses injectors with ev1 connection...someone would have to pull a injector out and measure it and also measure the o rings to know the size of injectors. I think maybe taller injectors won't hurt anything?

I started with 22# injectors and it wasn't enough. I don't think i'm running a short pulse. Real short pulses can be inconsistant. Initially my dyno guy was having trouble getting enough fuel. Shaun Church of Church Automotive did my dyno work. He is maybe the best tuner in the country. How about you Lenny, how did you figure out what injectors to buy?

A company that specializes in injectors gave me injectors for an engine putting out 140-150 hp. I then ended up going bigger when i felt it could use more. If you figure I'm 72 cu. inch and with my supercharger, I doubling the air intake volume or maybe more so that makes me like say a 144 cu in or more with 4 cylinders. A 350 engine using a 28# injector with 8 cylinders isn't all that far off.

Do these look like the right body type/style? From the pictures I was able to find of our stock injectors, these look to be the same style. (Sorry, I'm 5,000 miles away right now and can't just go out to the garage and look for myself :unsure: )

They are 19 lb/hr. from what I have been able to figure out, they are out of a Ford. Seems Ford used these and the larger bodied style for serveral years, mainly in mustangs and trucks. Not sure that we have enough room to fit the larger body injectors.

joyner used both styles of injectors but if you have the smaller injectors you need to stay with that style. the larger body injectors are low impedance and the small ones are high impedence... your PCM is programmed for which style you have...

Hey fellas raed this topic through and was curious about a brand new turbo i actually bought for a mustang i had. The turbo is a T4 that is made for 1.9 to 2.3 liter ford 4 cylinder engines and i figured since i allready have it can i run it on my stock engine or do i have to put lots of mods on it?

I'm not sure but i would think that turbo is pretty big for a 1100cc? Too big turbo would make turbo lag

I'm inclined to agree. There are two problems with installing too big a turbo, the first obviously being spool time. The second being pressure wave consistency. Basically if you look at a performance map for your turbo and your engine numbers put you to the left of the "islands" the turbo is too big for the exhaust to create a constant force on the turbo which can cause damage to the turbo.

Someone chime in here if I'm not getting it explained right.

Then again, don't take my word for it yet! I don't have mine up and running yet to find out if I calculated mine too small. It sure looks too small, but its supposed to be for 1000-1300cc, and my calculations for the engine numbers put it right in the middle of the performance map. We'll see in a few days I hope!

      Recently, my unit Axis 500 (2020) will only go into reverse and neutral. I am not able to get high or low. The engine itself sounds fine and I do not have other issues on this unit. I change the engine oil but have not yet changed the gear oil.
      Before this happened I occasionally encountered issue where going from reverse to high gear, it would grind some and i had to reposition to shift into high gear. I also for last couple weeks heard a squeaking sound. I couldn't tell what it was. Was looking for a grease point I missed.
      The unit has around 70 hours and is kept in the garage.
      Anyone else encounter this type of scenario? Any suggestions on troubleshooting would be appreciated. Thanks.

      The conversion took about 350lbs. off the vehicle.  It never rode great, but now I feel every  crack in the road.  I have backed off spring compression nut to the point just under where they would move around if suspension was at full extension, but it is still very stiff.  I would like to put some softer coilover springs on it, but I have no idea what the spring rate is with the original springs so I would just be guessing on what to order.  Does anyone have the data for the original spring compression rate?  I am willing to give up a little ground clearance for a softer ride. Right now when sitting still the rear suspension is at or near full extension and the rear tires have several degrees of camber which will cause uneven wear if allowed to continue in this state.

      Apparently, these are Hisun or at least they use Hisun engines. I can't find much info on them online yet.  Ran across a used one with just 100 miles on it as a very reasonable price.  Just curious.
      Okay, more info...they are owned by Textron Corp who also owns Bell Helicopter, Cessna & Beechcraft aircraft, Ez-Go & Cushman and Arctic Cat and a bunch of other companies.
      So are thy cheap Chinese crap machines or are they good to go?

      corrosion had its oring neck area  jammed in.. and besides that had corrosion in the starter just shorted when ran direct jumper cable to the starter post power to it

      I would really like to know what you guys think about this. I'll try not to ramble and make it as clear as I can.
       
      I took this new job with companyX as a fiber splicer a year ago. I have a 45' bucket truck and 10or12 x 8 ft enclosed splice trailer I have to take home. Within the last 6 months all the management in the splice dept left. Now the power/construction management and higher ups are filling in. Just recently we were told travel to our 1st job is not payable even though we are in a company vehicle. 
      We are union so I asked the union business manager about this. His reply was be grateful you were paid travel as long as you were and that you don't have to drive your POV to the job.
       
      Last week I had 50hr total. The job area is 4-4.5 hrs away. My time was reduced to 44.5 hrs since we were told this travel thing on Tuesday of that week. I wasn't hired for this area. I was hired for area a lot closer to home. 
       
      Pay is good. Work is not hard. Insurance is through the union and so far pretty good.
      But I hate the thought of having to work extra just to make a 40hr paycheck. Anyone who has to drive as part of their job knows windshield time is not easy.
       
      Anyway what do you guys think. Should I look for a different job or just suck it up because of the decent pay and health insurance.
