I don't have a lot to spend on mod.s so I am always looking for a bargin. I have added a winch plate and winch from Tractor supply, a 2" reciever hitch from Thunderhawk products on ebay and camo seat covers from cloth at the local fabric shop.

Pics to follow...

Nice mods. I'm a "thrifty outfitter" myself. Harbor Freight has some down and dirty pricing on Winches and hitch adapters, etc. I'm thining I want to add a 2" receiver to each end and then mount my winch on a 2" tube and a mounting plate. That way I can move it to either end if needed.

Thanks man. I got the winch from Tractor Supply for $49 because they are changing brands. I couldn't pass that up.

Ultimately I did mount a 2 in. receiver to the front frame and made a pivoting snowplow to plow my 650 ft. Driveway. I found some V-bar chains on Amazon for about $35 and put 7 seventy pound sand bags in the back for traction. Plowed my drive all winter and it worked AMAZINGLY well for a 2WD! I got stuck twice when I got too close to the edge of the driveway. All I had to do was shovel out the snow around the tires and drove out! My cloth cab and Radiator heater mods allowed me to plow in great comfort, warm enough so I couldn't see my breathe at some pretty cold temps. Read my heater post on this site for more details on that mod.

The conversion took about 350lbs. off the vehicle.  It never rode great, but now I feel every  crack in the road.  I have backed off spring compression nut to the point just under where they would move around if suspension was at full extension, but it is still very stiff.  I would like to put some softer coilover springs on it, but I have no idea what the spring rate is with the original springs so I would just be guessing on what to order.  Does anyone have the data for the original spring compression rate?  I am willing to give up a little ground clearance for a softer ride. Right now when sitting still the rear suspension is at or near full extension and the rear tires have several degrees of camber which will cause uneven wear if allowed to continue in this state.

I added lights to the Coleman Outfitter 550 last fall.   I bought lights on line from Nilight, a 300 W  12" light bar mounted forward and 2 square 4" floods for the rear.  Those are mounted on the roof corners facing rear and downward just beyond the tailgate.  Nilights seem to be of high quality, as I've had them on my garden tractor for 5 years and still flood the way ahead with great light.
Both the front and rear lights provide amazing illumination making the OEM headlamps look like parking lights.  Made a connector for the front bar that plugs into existing headlamp switch so it is just part of that circuit controlled by the headlamp switch.   Rear work lamps were wired in using a rocker switch installed in the dash.  Backed up to the garden with the work lights and was able to harvest some tomatoes well past sunset.
What have you used if anything for auxiliary lighting on your UTV?

Apparently, these are Hisun or at least they use Hisun engines. I can't find much info on them online yet.  Ran across a used one with just 100 miles on it as a very reasonable price.  Just curious.
Okay, more info...they are owned by Textron Corp who also owns Bell Helicopter, Cessna & Beechcraft aircraft, Ez-Go & Cushman and Arctic Cat and a bunch of other companies.
So are thy cheap Chinese crap machines or are they good to go?

My 2018 XG-850-SL starter died yesterday. The old part number from Kubota is E7153-11732 which has been superceed by part # EG881-63010. I am looking for an aftermarket starter because the Kubota retail price for the starter starts at $550 and upwards toward $850.  If anyone has gone down this road before and has found an aftermarket starter ~ please share with me. We own a ranch and this thing is used every single day and is sorely missed when it is down for maintenance.  Kind Regards, ~ Stan
