We pout new belts cleaned engine and carburetor plugs you name it.  Drove down road no problem came back uphill no power won’t go . What’s the issue?

could it be clutch?

OP,

Does the engine rev while trying to go up the hill, or does it slow down? If it revs up and you slow down your wet clutch is likely toast. If the engine just slows down its just a function of the machine being underpowered or not performing optimally due to some other issue. These things are not exactly powerful being 400 CC and weighing 1200lbs empty. Your options on the latter are to get a running start, or make your wife get out and push.

There's only a medum-high gear on the 400, its single speed

then with the underpowered  engine, that might be the issue..Did it always do this or is it recent development? I guess it has a  NO TOWING  warning on it?

As Joe asked, if it's just a recent development, could be a valve lashing issue.

When we first heard the noise, we immediately stopped driving it...at first we thought it might be a linkage issue, but after further inspection looks like the sound/jolting is coming from the rear diff. Took a video below...
Anyone know what is creating the diff to skip/jump like this? We drained the diff oil and didn't look terrible, no metal.
Other info that may be useful:
      1400 miles on it
      Recently tightened the E brake
P.s. never posted on this forum before, let me know if the video does not work

starts up you have keep rpms up for 5 minutes till it warms up then runs fine. But if it stalls wont start unless you unplug fuel pump and hold it to the floor till it starts then plug pump back in and run it till it warms up then it is fine all day.

      Hello All...
Just bought a 2014 Massimo 500 UTV.  It;s not running at the moment, but hopefully will soon.  I need a seat for it also (passenger side, if it makes any difference.)  It is a crank-but no start situation.  Just now starting to read the boards for solutions.  Apparently these models are well known for this issue.  If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to chime in, it would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks

I have a 2016 550, ive tryed the hisun website and seems i cant get parts there. I would like to add power steering, have seen a few "kits" on ebay
for the 750 not sure if its the same parts needed for the 550, there is a factory bracket already welded to the frame above the standard steering rack, is this to be used
to mount the eps motor? There is also a grey plug hanging just above the brake master cylinder, not sure if thats anything that needs to be used in the install.
Handy with wrenches so if i can find the parts installing it shouldnt be a problem, anyone done this upgrade, was it worth it?
