Going riding and going to get RICH

Recommended Posts

Got a metal detector for Christmas. Wanted a nice one all of my life. Now my riding trips will be twice as fun. Going into the mountain foothills along the eastern Navada boarder about 25 miles north of Utahs southern state line. This is gold country so we will be looking for nuggets. Actually won't get rich but its all about the thrill of the hunt. Who really knows, somewhere in this world is a 25 pound nugget and someone just might find it. The trails are going to be good and and with my heaters, the Trooper should be comfortable dispite it being in the 30s. No snow.

Well, I'm not rich yet. Had a great time. Rode up to elevations where it was 15 degrees and we were still comfortable and warm. I got a Minelabs.

I'll take anything I can find. Maybe I'll be able to pay for my gas to get there.

I used the heaters and fans from the heaters that Joyner put out for the Troopers. Doubt you can get them any more. The radiators are about 5" by 11" and about 1" thick, each with two computer type fans hooked to them. I mounted one under each seat on the vertical wall behind your legs. I also used a three way valve for the hook up into the engine coolant system. This way I either run the coolant through the heater coils or not. They work great. Having them under the front of the seat is perfect because we carry a couple of blankets that we throw over legs and the heat comes up under them. Its amaizing just how cozy it is even in quite cold weather. We don't have behind the seats colose off not the top halfs of the doors but we do have a windshield that can completely close off the front. If your looking to do somehting, the 12 volt computer fans work good. I would look for a couple of heater coils out of a car or maybe a motorcycle.

For those who want to do heater i imagine an mini micro radiator for very small atv or like that could be made to work like a heater core or we could get a actual heater core from pick up and make that work

When I am driving at 30 to 40 mph on the highway, the display will change from H (high) to R (reverse).  It does not actually shift into reverse, it seems to shift into neutral and starts losing speed and the gas pedal has no effect.  After the rpm/speed drops for 5 seconds or so, it changes back to H and runs fine for another minute or so.  You have to try to drive it at less than 5000 rpm or so, to try and keep this from happening.  Any ideas on what the problem might be?  It only happens at the higher speeds.

I am into five years of ownership of my electric side by side and I am noticing some deterioration of power. Although I measured the voltage at over 49 volts, I believe the batteries are beginning to fail. I charge them about twice a week. Last year the charger went out and I replaced it with a 48 volt golf cart charger.  What has been your experience with the batteries?

      Hello All...
Just bought a 2014 Massimo 500 UTV.  It;s not running at the moment, but hopefully will soon.  I need a seat for it also (passenger side, if it makes any difference.)  It is a crank-but no start situation.  Just now starting to read the boards for solutions.  Apparently these models are well known for this issue.  If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to chime in, it would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks

My father-in-laws 750 hisun will not change gears unless he completely turns the motor off then shifts.  I thought it might be a brake problem but he thought clutch.  He took it to a jackleg down the road and he basically charged him $300 and did not fix a thing.  Any ideas would be useful because he really can’t afford throwing money at it.
