Well I bit the bullet and I am having a machine shop do it for me...120 to 150.00.. I can tell you it tested at Rockwell 51 If that helps anyone that cant test it but can make it...I can't tell but for some reason...Probably my ERROR when we took the carrier apart the S-3 Shim was ate up and inside with the spiders... I think it might have been the cause...I don't know Just GUESSING at it.. Theres no marks on the gears so who knows???? So I need a S-3 shim too LOL....Oh well I will make do with what I have....

P.S. Being LAID off Sucks!

Thanks Guys!

Can anyone tell me what happened to my diff. I had it rebuilt with the up grades about two years ago. I was riding in a tight spot in 1st gear in two wheel drive crawling over a few logs about ten inches around when I heard a ping like sound and then found I had no rear wheel drive. I could see the in put shaft from the trans to the diff turning but no rear wheels. I was able to get out in front wheel drive. This is the third time I have had to limp it back with just the front wheels. Im starting to look at other UTV'S as this thing is always breaking down. I have about 5000 easy miles on my T2 as I use it for hunting and trail riding. Help.

Did you put in stronger bolts from Lenny? What broke last time? It's still t2 gearing ratio?

I'm guessing spider gear or side gear shafts if its not making noises like it's driving on few broken teeth off pinion... mine broke few teeth at pinion and chipped the ring gear but spider was still good.

Is there oil coming out anywhere?

Hey big Dan which pinion shaft was you talking about? The pinion itself that mates to ring gear or the stub shaft that goes inside carrier to mate with spider gears?

I had the diff go out about a year ago and found it hadn't been up graded like I was told so I had that done. I was told it wouldn't have any more issues 800.00 later. It is the T2 gearing, No oil running out any where and no gear noise at all.

If your missing the conical spacer behind one of the spider gears that would put more stress on the shaft because then only one side takes all the load. The upgrade actually grinds into one of the shafts making it weaker but we haven't had any problems with that and I was running 122hp and now the new owner is running 131hp. If someone over ground the shaft then maybe it was weakened too much. With the spider gears spaced properly, the stock shaft won't go back in and that is what necessitated the grinding. One mistake in the design is that the groove in the shaft has sharp square corners which is a no no for anything under flexing stress. The square corner concentrates the stress at that point instead of spreading it over a larger area as it does when its radiused.

Did you buy the diff already "upgraded" from a store without shimming it? One store told me that they have "upgraded unit" i asked what was upgraded they said stronger bolts and locking tabs to hold the bolt head from turning out... exactly what i already had in my t2 when it blew up...i used lenny kit to take out the sloppy end play

The shop here had to send the diff to AZ for the up grade so I don't know about the shims. I don't really know what shimming is. I was told by the shop in AZ when I got my up graded diff back it would be "bullet proof".

Question. Does anyone know of we can have a new pinion made with say 2 less teeth and still make it match up? We could prob have a spacer made for behind the ring gear.

I would say yes but if I'm going to do it... i think i might would design one on computer 3dprogram and then make it into plastic with 3d printer to make sure it's all matched up then either use cnc to make one out of slab of metal or use the plastic one to make an mold and use mold to make pinon and clean the flash off (metal Sharp edges)

I doubt it would be cheap

Yeah wouldnt be cheap but how many would want it? I think it would be worth 150.00 for each.. Im would buy it for that providing I was working again.. What do you think?

I don't know if i want 13 tooth pinion yet... trooper have 15 tooth and renegade is 14 tooth i feel 14 tooth really helped me a lot getting power back except for in 5th gear up steep hill at high speed i still lose speed. I think i just need more hp/torque for now to get that back up...but if you make machined much stronger metal pinion and ring gear i think I'll buy set but not sure yet...

We have a 2018 Cub Cadet Challenger 400 and I found this Internally Threaded Bolt with a 10mm head size laying in the floor of the shop bay here on our ranch where we park the Cub Cadet.
Trying to figure out where it belongs...

Has anyone found a lift kit that fits an Axis 500? Mine is a 2021.

I've had a Hisun Vector E1 for just a bit longer than is required for me to do some maintenance. While it's well-overdue, it only drives 1.5km a few times each week on a fairly decent gravel road (to the letterbox), and it has worked really well right from the get-go.
Looking at the manual it states that I need to use SAE80 API GL-4 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Main gear Case, and SAE80 API GL-5 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Front gear Case - unfortunately i can't find either of those online here in Australia. Plenty of options that look close, but, as someone who has never driven any vehicle before, I want to use the right thing and it's a tad confusing.
My question: Since there are no oils that are bang on SAE80 (they all seem to cover a range) would Liqui Moly Hypoid GL4 Gear Oil 80W-90  & Motorex Hypoid GL-5 Gear Oil 80W90 - be ok to use? (Or any other suggestions of what I might be able to purchase online in Australia) And would I have to drain out any existing oil from both gear cases?
This is a whole new world for me and  being able to find exactly what is specified in the manual hasn't made this easy!

I have a 2018 cub cadet challenger 750 I bought brand new almost 2 years ago the first month I had it the exhaust broke and burnt the spark plug wire in two that was a recall so the dealership installed the new one it had a different design and it bolted up to the bottom two plugs below the spark plug the dealership said they had to Adjust the exhaust valves I get the machine back thanking everything is good now wrong not even a week after I get it back the timing chain tensioner comes apart inside the motor I take it back to the dealership They put one on I get the machine back thanking everything is good but then just like before not even a week goes by when I was riding the Machine automatically quits going come to find out the wet clutch was burned up the primary clutch head stripped off of the splines I get that fixed and then  it overheats I take it back they bleed the air out of the coolant they bring it back to me the same day that I get it back it overheats again I take it back they temporarily fix it again just enough to let the warranty run out and now the machine has been to multiple different mechanics I have had them try to bleed the air out they have stood it up on its end I have had the water pump changed I have had the fan hooked to a switch so I could leave it on all the time but still almost 2 years later not even 200 hours on the machine and I cannot ride it The dealership will not take it back as a lemon I have tried I am at my wits end I have no clue what to try next
