Started new cage. I was getting tired of the boring stock cage. I also wanted to make a stronger one. I hope to have it done by March.

Looks real good. Keep posting photos of progress.

Update. Added a few more pieces. I don't get much time in the garage these days. I found that if I heat up the .120 wall Dom tubing and throw the stock tube in the freezer for 10 min it will sleeve over. I am using. 120 in a few places for strength.

It will have V bracing front & rear and one tube running down the centerline of the roof.

Then I will eventually add an aluminum roof.

The measuring & bending is easy. Its the notching that is time consuming and monotonous. If you look at a lot of aftermarket cages the usually have less complex notching surfaces. The do this on purpose so they can hit it with a tube notchet and don't have to spend much time grinding & grinding again.

With that type of steering wheel, its easy to move the horn button to the center of the steering wheel, with a few other wiring changes, interested?

If I remember right, I used some kind of a domed washer or piece of metal with a piece for foam under it and the wire soldered to it under the fabric in the middle. When you push the fabric, the the washer contacts the metal to complete the circuit to ground.

Lol, I still have the noisy stock exhaust remember. People hear me coming!

I would be very interested in an electronic throttle or brake control somehow mounted to the steering wheel for rock crawling. That possible?

yes, I already have a "cruise control" on mine, what it is is just a dial up the speed of the engine that drops out when I step on the brake unless I have the over ride button on. It also has circuitry in it so that if the spreed drops off or increases, it compensates. It uses an R/C servo for power to pull the throttle in.

Brakes, haven't given that much thought, but i suppose it's possible using a linear actuator that just pushes or pulls on the brake pedal.

looks awsome atre you gonna put the back seat back on??

Yeah, I am planning on it. Spent 1hr in the garage trying to figure how best to do it.

My aluminum roof is getting cut out today.

Done with the cage. Cutting and chopping and fitting the rear seat kicked my a$$. It was almost as much work as building the front cage. Just some clean up and it will be ready for paint.

I just purchased a used 2023 Massimo warrior UTV SxS 1000mx with 600 miles on it. I didn't even get a full day of riding and the driver's side rear axle broke. I'm pretty sure it was already going bad because we would hear a noise once in a while. I'm wondering if anyone else has had problems with theirs. Also looking for places to buy accessories.

I have a 2018 cub cadet challenger 750 I bought brand new almost 2 years ago the first month I had it the exhaust broke and burnt the spark plug wire in two that was a recall so the dealership installed the new one it had a different design and it bolted up to the bottom two plugs below the spark plug the dealership said they had to Adjust the exhaust valves I get the machine back thanking everything is good now wrong not even a week after I get it back the timing chain tensioner comes apart inside the motor I take it back to the dealership They put one on I get the machine back thanking everything is good but then just like before not even a week goes by when I was riding the Machine automatically quits going come to find out the wet clutch was burned up the primary clutch head stripped off of the splines I get that fixed and then  it overheats I take it back they bleed the air out of the coolant they bring it back to me the same day that I get it back it overheats again I take it back they temporarily fix it again just enough to let the warranty run out and now the machine has been to multiple different mechanics I have had them try to bleed the air out they have stood it up on its end I have had the water pump changed I have had the fan hooked to a switch so I could leave it on all the time but still almost 2 years later not even 200 hours on the machine and I cannot ride it The dealership will not take it back as a lemon I have tried I am at my wits end I have no clue what to try next

Just received delivery of a 2024 AMP Pro.  Thought I'd start a thread with my impressions as I use it and learn more.  There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of real-world usage information out there on this model.  Hope this will help others as they research.
      Intended Use Cases
Fire mitigation / slash removal from a 5 acre forested and well-gamble-oaked property.  The previous owners thought as much about fire mitigation as I do about fashion: not much. Snow removal Stump pulling General hauling (rock, lumber, etc.) Weimaraner energy depletion.  Wasn't an original use case, but a nice added bonus.  Experiences So Far
Wasn't impressed that two of the bumpers on the underside of the bed where it sits upon the frame were missing.  The metal on metal contact has damaged the powder coating and the frame.  I expect a little better QC.
I've only put a few hours on it, so not a ton to report on usage.  It isn't quiet; it's silent.  I can't even detect an electric note from the motor. I removed (and subsequently replaced) the motor cover noticed that the motor is German and made by Schambuller.  The motor controller is Italian and made by Dana TM4.  Given the operating specs of both I found on the web, I suspect both are higher quality than the previous Navitas (which is supposed to be decent).  The motor is rated at 25 hp and 71.5 lb-ft of torque.  It feels very powerful.  All the torque is delivered instantly, if desired.
The bed is huge and has an electric dump as standard.  Great feature but would like it to go up a bit more.  Probably not feasible from an engineering perspective, but I want and I need ;).
Power steering is nice, but vague.  Probably common to many UTVs, but I am accustomed to more direct results from input.  Plan early and plan often.
In our first full day of usage, we hauled about 1/2 as much slash as the entire rest of the year when I was doing it by hand cart.  I may get fatter, but I'll also get more done.  After a few days of usage, the battery meter has gone down by 1/10th.
      Until next time...
