This is 97 Mule 2500 I picked up dead as a doornail sitting for 3yrs. I cleaned the tank with Evaporust, replaced lines, fuel filter and pump, and rebuilt carb. It turns over and idle fine but wont move. Had a bad sound come from belt cover, removed cover and this is what I saw.

Please look at these pics and tell me how big of a problem I have............ Any thought, suggestions etc.... gladly accepted reply or email [email protected]

here is a youtube link , took the converter cover off here is a video :

XCYCLE,I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMEND HAVING BOTH DRIVE AND DRIVEN CONVERTORS OVERHAUED. PERSONALY, I DONT THINK YOU CAN SAVE THE DRIVE CONVERTOR BY WATCHING THE VIDEO. THE DRIVEN CONVERTOR IS OPEN WAY TOO MUCH FOR IDLE POSITION, THATS WHY BELT SEEMS WAY TO LONG. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Thanks for reply . A few questions if you don't mind......

1) Am I correct by saying the driven clutch can be removed without special tools, just with a socket ?

2)The drive pulley requires a clutch puller to remove and that special tool, that looks like a long bolt , to remove it from engine shaft

3) Are the bolts on the drive and driven pulley loosened the normal way counter clockwise?Askin cause I watched a video of a Kaw. converter system being removed and it showed the drive pulley with reverse or left handed threads( loosened clockwise). The video was showing a brute force i think')

4) What could cause driven pulley to be open way to much at idle?

I am going to purchase a complete new drive pulley and see what the driven looks like when I take it off.

Another thing not shown in video is that when in gear if you try to give it gas the drive pulley actually moves out some.

Thanks again

SORRY, I MISSED THE REST. ON THE DRIVEN PULLEY, STAYING OPEN AT IDLE. YOU HAVE 2 BUSHINGS A SPRING AND SHOES THAT ARE MOST LIKELY WORN OUT. ALSO WHEN TORN DOWN, YOU NEED TO INSPECT THE SHIEVES TO SEE IF SMOOTH, WITH OUT WAVES IN THEM. ALSO INSPECT THE SHAFT THAT THE MOVABLE SHIEVE RIDES IN AND OUT ON FOR SMOOTHNESS. I AM NOT SURE WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THE DRIVE PULLEY MOVING " OUT " IT SHOULD BE MOVING IN? WHAT I DID SEE LOOKED SHOT THOUGH. GOOD LUCK.

I have a 2018 cub cadet challenger 750 I bought brand new almost 2 years ago the first month I had it the exhaust broke and burnt the spark plug wire in two that was a recall so the dealership installed the new one it had a different design and it bolted up to the bottom two plugs below the spark plug the dealership said they had to Adjust the exhaust valves I get the machine back thanking everything is good now wrong not even a week after I get it back the timing chain tensioner comes apart inside the motor I take it back to the dealership They put one on I get the machine back thanking everything is good but then just like before not even a week goes by when I was riding the Machine automatically quits going come to find out the wet clutch was burned up the primary clutch head stripped off of the splines I get that fixed and then  it overheats I take it back they bleed the air out of the coolant they bring it back to me the same day that I get it back it overheats again I take it back they temporarily fix it again just enough to let the warranty run out and now the machine has been to multiple different mechanics I have had them try to bleed the air out they have stood it up on its end I have had the water pump changed I have had the fan hooked to a switch so I could leave it on all the time but still almost 2 years later not even 200 hours on the machine and I cannot ride it The dealership will not take it back as a lemon I have tried I am at my wits end I have no clue what to try next

I've got a 2023 UT400 (bought from tractor supply) and I've been beating my head against a wall with it.
It will start and idle perfectly. The second I touch the throttle it sputters and dies.
I've checked that the fuel pump is working  (it is).
I've replaced the injector, throttle position sensor, O2 sensor, and intake air sensor. All with no change.

I've just taken a look a the schematic, and there is a crank position sensor as well.

Could this be the source of my troubles? If so, where is this thing located? I can't seem to find it on any drawings from the parts suppliers.

Any ideas on using sound deafening mats? Have they helped with the noise? Worth it? These side by sides are so loud!
