HID light conversions

Recommended Posts

did it I got my kits off eBay xentex I believe it was 35$ a kit to convert two lights the bulbs are H3 mine are 35 watt you may think that's not bright but IT IS. I did it to all my light bar lights and I switched that to LED but took the HID lights and they are now my driving lights big big difference and yes I cut the wires to hide the balest from water and used the factory harness

I have never owned a HID light, YET, but I have gone a little nuts with LED lights! That said, one comparison I did with another persons HIDs showed that the HID is more spot lite than the LED, it reaches out further, but has a narrower beam, My LEDs put out lots of light and I can see almost every thing with in a certain distance, both side of the road, the tops of trees and especially what's right in front of me.

I'm not saying one's better than the other, that depends on what you want! It's just something to consider. If I find one of my videos, I'll post a link for it.

I agree with Kinarfi. If your going fast at night, you want the light to reach out. If your navigating thru tight stuff the LEDs cover the area better because they spread the light to the sides more. My HID were really too bright for close stuff and leave you a little blinded especially when you went thru a dip and got the light reflected back from the opposing up slope in front. If you put Kinarfi's lights with mine and switched back and forth, you would have it all.

The conversion took about 350lbs. off the vehicle.  It never rode great, but now I feel every  crack in the road.  I have backed off spring compression nut to the point just under where they would move around if suspension was at full extension, but it is still very stiff.  I would like to put some softer coilover springs on it, but I have no idea what the spring rate is with the original springs so I would just be guessing on what to order.  Does anyone have the data for the original spring compression rate?  I am willing to give up a little ground clearance for a softer ride. Right now when sitting still the rear suspension is at or near full extension and the rear tires have several degrees of camber which will cause uneven wear if allowed to continue in this state.

      Hi
i have a 2019 Coleman 550 Outfitter.  The tail gate has a pin on each side, that snaps into latch blocks that are mounted on the inside of the tail gate opening.  There are two M6x16 pan head screws(bolts?) that hold the latch blocks in place.  The screws enter from inside the bed body, and I can’t figure out how to access them.  This is right by the tail light assemblies.  I tried taking a pan head screw out of the fender lip, but found out there is not a nut firmly inplace, to hold the pan head screw in.  Bottom line I’m making it worse.
coleman was no help.  If I could figure out how they attached the tail light, then maybe I could put the latch screws in through the tail light hole.  Any ideas?

      thanks

Apparently, these are Hisun or at least they use Hisun engines. I can't find much info on them online yet.  Ran across a used one with just 100 miles on it as a very reasonable price.  Just curious.
Okay, more info...they are owned by Textron Corp who also owns Bell Helicopter, Cessna & Beechcraft aircraft, Ez-Go & Cushman and Arctic Cat and a bunch of other companies.
So are thy cheap Chinese crap machines or are they good to go?
