I just purchased a 1988 Mule. There is a lot of noise coming from the engine and I am having problems with the carburetion. Someone told me that the noise was not uncommon for this model but I would appreciate feed-back from anyone with similar experience. Additionally, I am having trouble finding the serial no, on this unit.

Thanks in advance!

First off, Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new mule. You know, the reputation on those older models are what made people buy the newer stuff. As far as it having a lot of noise. Noise issues are tough to diagnose without actually hearing it. You might want to post a video. Are we talking top, or bottom end noise? As to the carburetor I'm guessing, you could put a carburetor kit in yourself, without much trouble. With most rebuilds of this type, you stay away from the jets, and focus on a good cleaning. The hardest part being the float. Worst case scenario, you have to take the carb to the dealer for a re - rebuild. And speaking of the dealer, they can definitely tell you where the serial no. is. My first stop when I buy a piece of equipment, is to get a factory service manual. It's always worth the money.

We have a 2018 Cub Cadet Challenger 400 and I found this Internally Threaded Bolt with a 10mm head size laying in the floor of the shop bay here on our ranch where we park the Cub Cadet.
Trying to figure out where it belongs...

I have a 2017 Intimidator XD4 800cc 4x4.  It will run great and then it's like it goes into safe mode and only runs on 1 cylinder.  It's not fouling out the plug when it happens.  Some times when I stop and restart it, it works fine.  First I thought it was a spark issue, then a fuel issue, but I feel like it's a short in the wiring some place.

I swapped out the Subaru motor for a Predator 670cc. If I remove the heat shield around the muffler, The stock muffler sits in there just fine with 1" to spare.
Only problem is the exhaust exit is toward the back seat instead of out the back.
Do you all think that the stock exhaust would be okay (just as effective) if cut a hole and welded a pipe on the reversed (opposite) end? Of course, plug the old exit end. Other option I thought of was to roll a tube 180° with a 7" center line radius and finish extention of 12" or so.
      Any thoughts?
