Jim Kessell Posted September 30, 2024 #1 Posted September 30, 2024 2005 American Landmaster EH65 Subaru Robins spits fuel from breather hose into the air cleaner and then down into carb. What’s causing this ?? Quote
Jim Kessell Posted October 26, 2024 Author #2 Posted October 26, 2024 I apologize to all who I left scratching their heads about my last post !! Turns out to be fuel diluted oil coming from the breather. I’ll be taking the carburetor off AGAIN !!! Quote
Greg Kilgore Posted October 30, 2024 #3 Posted October 30, 2024 Just like an old car or truck PCV valve. PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation Basically any gasses that blow-by the piston rings into the crank case need a place to go. So the PCV valve (one-way check valve) let the gasses out but doesn't allow any in. Usually a hose runs from PCV valve to breather and sent back into combustion chamber. Since the gasses are in the crankcase some oil may be pulled up as well. Or it could be something else. Just a thought. Home this helps and good luck with the repair. Kilgore. Quote

If overful it could be sucked by the breather back to carb. Quote
Jim Kessell Posted November 9, 2024 Author #5 Posted November 9, 2024 WB I was hoping you would respond. It was definitely gas infused and slightly over full. Took the carb off and changed the float and needle valve. Reworked the fuel solenoid. I have it running pretty well now but was having the issue with the blow back. 1 Quote

Jim Kessell Posted December 26, 2024 Author #13 Posted December 26, 2024 WB Merry Christmas to you and yours ! WX is keeping me in the house for now. One thing that was obvious from the start is the exhaust has to be reconfigured to fit the machine. Search around the local marketplaces. I found my Predator on offer up for $100 bucks brand new. W B Posted December 26, 2024 #14 Posted December 26, 2024 Hi Jim, Merry Christmas to you and yours also, I saw somewhere you can order flange with stub out for that engine. You might weld flex hose onto stub and run it wherever you have to. If i see it again i'll post it to you. Wow, where did you see that engine for $100. Might be a scam. check close. Quote
Jim Kessell Posted December 26, 2024 Author #15 Posted December 26, 2024 No scam It’s sitting on my work bench as we speak. When I saw the post I couldn’t get there fast enough !! Got it from a verified, longtime seller. Unbelievable ! Quote
W B Posted December 26, 2024 #16 Posted December 26, 2024 Wow--What a Christmas gift. Predator or Subaru? Quote
