Hi everyone! I am the new proud owner of a 09 joyner trooper 1100cc.. unfortunately it has a few issues.. alternator, red shift cable, and power steering pump needs to be replaced.. it seems these parts are pretty pricey on any of the joyner dealer sights..i saw someone on here that said they have parts cheaper... any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum.

I don't get on here as much as I used to.

Man, as far as I know not many troopers had a ps pump. Can you get pictures?

I suggest finding alternative sources on as much as you can. If you can find an alternator or ps pump at the local autoparts store then you can just get it whenever and not have to order. I am certain there is info on this forum about another type of alternator that will work. Just keep searching.

Sounds like you bought a machine that has been modified with hydraulic steering.   Bad news in my opinion.  If the wires in the alternator still look good, it could just be the brushes, I've fixed a few for fellow members, just charge for shipping and parts I have to buy to fix it.

Take some photos of the rig and the bad parts and post them. Plus, fill out the profile, maybe one of us lives just around the corner

So my model of trooper did not come original with hydrolic power steering? And ive tried to post pics on here before and was unsuccessful.. some sort of jpg error..... i was thinking of just buying a new or rebuilt alternator for my machine.. seems the easiest way to go at this point..

Its hard to tell because it is dirty.. and if i were a guessing man.. id say burnt or at least super weathered like its been sitting under water for a month.. i also noticed that both wires at the plug on the alternator both have 12v going in.. is that correct or may i have some sort of wiring issue?

This is the hydraulic steering pump.. Probably also not a good enough pic.. it is located on the bottom right rear of the engine and machine.. the reservoir is a cast aluminum square box located on the front of the frame just under the hood.. my question is.. is it supposed to be vented? Because it is not.. it seems to be a sealed system

I'm afraid you're on your own, that's not on a regular Joyner, someone added that.  My question about hydraulic steering, what happens when the engine dies or the belt breaks?  Bad idea in my book.

Probably hydraulic assist. Need more info to go sort it out.

Pics of hydraulic set up on front and probably gonna have pull pump and get numbers.  Do not brake that pulley!

What's it doing that you think it needs foxed?

Squeels like crazy until I re bleed the system/ crank the wheel back and forth... every timeI start it... i was thinking of swapping to the electric power steering.. however seems a bit pricey.. ill work on pulling both and get back to you with better pics

Hard to say. You said squeals?

Usally they will whine if low in fluid.

Is the belt right enough? They squeal when belts loose.

There is variable that can cause this.

Did it always so this?

Yes since the day i bought it used.. ive had so many issues so far.. fan not working.. alternator.. power steering pump.. lights.. all and all it seems to be a well built machine.. but for the price i paid for it.. i expected a whole lot less issues

I'm not a fan of any "cure in a can" solution, but you might try some belt dressing.  It makes the belt and pulley have a slightly higher coefficient of friction.  If the belt is slipping, that may help.  The squealing from belt slipping is different than a whining from low PS fluid level.

Another thought of mine.  Most PS systems that I'm familiar with  have the reservoir at the pump or very close to it.  Yous is located quite a distance; probably because of clearance problems with the installation.  That could be an issue.to consider.  Pumps are of four general types: a combination of high/low pressure with high/low volume.  PS pumps are Low Volume High Pressure.  They aren't capable of drawing a high vacuum through a long line.

So ive noticed.. i checked pressure from pump without the top on reservoir.. the fluid almost hit the ceiling in my shop.. i have a tractortrailer shop.. so the ceiling is above 13f

The pressure seems to be fine.. also tightened and tried belt dressing trick long before my post.. i am a mechanic.. but do appreciate and thank any and all input.. i do overlook dumb stuff just like anyone else.. im only human lol...

Which leads me back to the original reason why i am mythed about it.. works fine after i turn the steering wheel back and forth a few times... belt is tight.. apparently good pressure... im thinking debris in the system.. if not it my be a check valve for ventilation.. but no one has confirmed weather or not it is a closed or vented system... no one knows anything about my abomination lol..

Well if it's whining it seems like it's getting a void in the steering fluid system. Still not sure what you have upfront for steering gear. Steering box or rack and pinion. Either way you might have air inline. Might have to pressure bleed or vacuum bleed system.

I just purchased a used 2023 Massimo warrior UTV SxS 1000mx with 600 miles on it. I didn't even get a full day of riding and the driver's side rear axle broke. I'm pretty sure it was already going bad because we would hear a noise once in a while. I'm wondering if anyone else has had problems with theirs. Also looking for places to buy accessories.

      Hi
I have a 2022 hisun sector eps 550. 30amp fuse is blown for eps. Checked the motor and it’s fine. Opened up the controller and found a bad diode. Dealer wanted 500$ for the controller. Just posting this in case it helps someone. I couldn’t read numbers from the old one so just took a guess and replaced it with a 100v 3amp diode.

I have  a bulldog i bought from home depot in 2013.  In the last season it started refusing to shift from neutral to either forward or reverse.  I changed the trans axle fluid and made sure the cables were lubricated and free.  With a lot of coaxing, I can sometimes get it to shift.  once I start driving it, things improve until I let it set awhile.   Any suggestion on where to go from here?
