Hey everyone, new to the forum and I'm looking to buy my first UTV. My budget is about $18,000. I live in South Florida so mostly sandy wooded trails. I'd also travel to the Carolinas, Georgia etc.

I'm tore between the 2017 Yamaha XYZ 1000r ss se and the 2017 Polaris RZR 1000 XP.

I searched the Yamaha forums for the pros and cons and basically it seems the Yamaha is geared towards dune riding unless you put in a heavy flywheel and some other mods.

I searched the Polaris forums and I hear about how they don't stand behind their products and they tend to break often.

This leads me to my dilemma. I like the Yamaha because I've owned them in the past (atv, dirtbike) and they have been bulletproof. I like the Polaris because it seems more suited for the landscape I will be riding in but I'm worried about longevity.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

Dead Forum .. ...see ya!

Yes, it has been pretty dead in certain forums here lately, so sorry  you haven't gotten an answer on your topic. There are some veteran members that do a great job of helping others but sometimes it takes a bit. Here are some comparisons from other sites if you haven't seen them yet 😁

      Thanks for accepting me!
Haven't got a side by side yet, but have been shopping.
Any advice welcome & I am on a limited budget, so haven't decided yet on new or used.

As I tried to do a conversion with the Yamaha 660 motor, I realized the 660 was never fuel injected so it would not work for the fuel injected hisun motor swap. But the good thing is the hisun 750 motor is a clone of the 660 Yamaha but with the components for the fuel injection (cam/crank position sensor). So that left me with a new rebuilt Yamaha 660 and still a broke 750 hisun motor. I took apart 750 think the timing chain had broke from all that I've heard about these motors. The chain was not broke, but just off cam and crank gears! The chain tensioner was at fault!  I've ordered Yamaha 660 replacement parts, chain, two exhaust valves (which got bent when chain came off while motor was spinning) and seals. The piston has 2 little nicks where it had hit valves but no damage otherwise. The head is being redone at the machine shop and I'll be putting it back together in the next couple of weeks. Also I finally tracked down a Service Manual with all the info on the 550/750 Challenger.

I just purchased a used 2023 Massimo warrior UTV SxS 1000mx with 600 miles on it. I didn't even get a full day of riding and the driver's side rear axle broke. I'm pretty sure it was already going bad because we would hear a noise once in a while. I'm wondering if anyone else has had problems with theirs. Also looking for places to buy accessories.

the regen braking on my e1 has stopped working unless (for eg) I am going down a hill in low and it's slowing things down to stick to the 10kph limit. when I drive and take my foot off the accelerator it's not initiating the regen to slow things down and instead just coasts at whatever speed it is at, or speeds up as the regen is not limiting it. the brake lights work, so it's probably not a fault with the sensor on the brake pedal

hoping someone else might be able to provide some suggestions on things to check, as the mob that I bought it off seem to have gone silent on me
