The fuel pick-up problem is easy to solve. Run a line into the top of the tank using a flat piece of steel or alum with a tube welded in the center sticking out both ends so you can atatch a hose to it. Let he one end hang in the center of the tank down close to the bottom while the other end hooks to the fuel pump. It looks like jet ski shops have a hose with a filter on the end that we could use. There would be no welding on the tank this way. fasten the same way the sending unit is on top the tank. If you are woried about drilling a hole in the top of the tank. Disconect all the hoses and plug. Fill with diesel (it will not spark and go of like a bomb) drill the tank. drain it, if there is a little diesel residue in the tank when you fill it back up with gas it won't hurt you like water.

Flatbed, have you done this, do you have the 1/2 " hose from filter to pump that I have, I'm contacting companies to see what is available in really flexible tubing. Dropping in from the top sounds good, it will certainly get considered when I get my new tank & I work on this problem for real.

No , i have not done this yet, to busy working on everyone else stuff, I am going to do this as soon as i can. If you drop it in from the top you probably would not have to relocate the fuel pump. I kept the same size hose from the tank to the pump. It is very important to have fuel volume along with fuel preasure with fuel injection because it has a return line.

What do think would happen if we went with a 1/4 inch tygon or ether tubing (it's tough enough not to collapse)?

I ask because that is what I was planning to use inside the tank, I wasn't thinking about supplying the return line volume.

My other idea was to put a pick up line front & rear and have them join at a point below the tank. I think this would work also, but you would want to use the same size tube/hose though out.

You will get away with using 3/8 id hose for the suction line. Going in at both ends of the tank will do you no good. You would be sucking air going up and down the hill because one side would be above the fuel level when you get around a half tank. I really like the idea of going in from the top of the tank with a hose that will move with gravity so it leans toward the back of the tank going up hill, front of the tank going down hill aor toward the side when side hilling. Will be leaving for gordon wells staying at McMillen camp mid friday so i dont know when i can write again. will be trying out the 13.00x15 paddles.

I have a 2018 cub cadet challenger 750 I bought brand new almost 2 years ago the first month I had it the exhaust broke and burnt the spark plug wire in two that was a recall so the dealership installed the new one it had a different design and it bolted up to the bottom two plugs below the spark plug the dealership said they had to Adjust the exhaust valves I get the machine back thanking everything is good now wrong not even a week after I get it back the timing chain tensioner comes apart inside the motor I take it back to the dealership They put one on I get the machine back thanking everything is good but then just like before not even a week goes by when I was riding the Machine automatically quits going come to find out the wet clutch was burned up the primary clutch head stripped off of the splines I get that fixed and then  it overheats I take it back they bleed the air out of the coolant they bring it back to me the same day that I get it back it overheats again I take it back they temporarily fix it again just enough to let the warranty run out and now the machine has been to multiple different mechanics I have had them try to bleed the air out they have stood it up on its end I have had the water pump changed I have had the fan hooked to a switch so I could leave it on all the time but still almost 2 years later not even 200 hours on the machine and I cannot ride it The dealership will not take it back as a lemon I have tried I am at my wits end I have no clue what to try next

2002 ranger 500 4x4 stopped running and wouldn't restart. Service manual wiring diagram helped identify the hub safety switch as the culprit. Using jumper wires to bypass  switch allowed the engine to start and run normally. Inspection of switch showed melted epoxy and a strong smell of burnt electrical. Unable to find replacement part either used or new. Is there a work around other than jumper wiring?

      Greetings,
I have a client that wants me to install a heater of some sort to aid in cold weather starting (she uses it at her business, has had issues starting the last few days in sub-zero). I would prefer a coolant heater to a pan heater (silicone pad), but I cant for the life of me find the diameter of the coolant hoses. Heck, I'm not even sure if it would work as well in this application given how long the hose is compared to tractors and trucks I have installed them in.
Any advice you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated.
