I have a Coleman UTV 400 and looking for something to store it in.  Preferably something vinyl or plastic with its own base that can stand alone outside and house the UTV.  I think the dimensions of the UT400 are around 106" long 52" wide and 74" tall.

What should I consider that won't break the bank?

A tarp?  It will take a fairly large shed to have a big enough door and tall enough. Those tend to be pricey.

I guess, but would like to have something a bit more user friendly and less susceptible to critter invasion and destruction.

I've used what I think is the easiest solution: 2" PVC pipe and the connectors to create 4 legs and the top crossbars and then two tarps laid over 90 degrees from each other. It makes a great shelter and is cheap and easy plus it can be sim,ply taken down and stored for the Summer, if desired.

I like what you did, I did something similar to cover a pool one year.  Also saw this which is very close to the same concept, it's a complete kit, probably a little sturdier and also more expensive.

Yes, very much like that but very basic. No actual door, just lift one end of one tarp. The tarps came from Harbor Freight and were like less than 10 bucks each. The PVC came from Home Depot. Total cost for everything was less than 50 bucks.

Forget about keeping critters out, they will get into just about anything you erect for storage.

Harbor Freight's canopies are where you need to go.  By the time you fiddle around with tarps, pipes, and ways to secure the tarps,  why not just get the canopy that has a roll up door and room for your machine, and other stuff too.

10x10 is $179

10x17 is $229.

You probably spent somewhere around $8,000 to $9,000 for the UTV, buy something to keep the weather off of it.

I picked up a 10x17 just in case last weekend that was on sale for $179.

If anyone is looking for the cheapest UTV, with dump bed, winch, roof and windshield, I just noticed that lowes has the axis 500/ hisun UTV on sale for 4500 (at least in my area) They are $4500. ($9000 original). I have one - they have some issues, but nothing catastrophic. My biggest complaint is that it is under powered. Also the winch failed. They are still selling an extended warranty - which I would take, just in case. My guess is lowes wants them gone.

So I'm interested in a side by side of some sort.
Not sure what make/model to even look at.

I would plan on riding on trails with very rough rocky terrain and plenty of mud. Maybe sand once in a long while. I like LOTS of power and drive fast, but also like a trail that is a challenge to get through. I think 4x4 would be a must. I like the idea of a supercharged engine, but I have never owned one, and would be a little concerned about long term reliability or expensive difficult engine repairs. If anyone knows quads, my favorite was the 2008 Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS. For dirt bikes, I raced a 2008 KTM 450 SX-F. So that gives you an idea of what type of off road stuff I liked.
I don't like "utility quads" or "trail bikes". And likewise, I dont want a turd UTV. I want something that looks awesome and performs awesome. 2 seater with some cargo capacity at the minimum.

      Thoughts?

Hey everyone – my name is Adam and I’m doing some market research to better understand the ATV / UTV community. I'm especially interested in hearing about:
What you use your vehicle for (work, play, etc.)
      What you love about it
      What frustrates you
What the overall experience of riding has been like
If you're open to hopping on a casual 30-minute Zoom or phone call sometime this week or next, I’ll send you a $100 gift card as a thank-you.
No sales, no pitches—just listening and learning. I'd also just ask that you send over a photo of you and your side-by-side in action (nothing formal—trail pics or selfies are totally fine!).
If you're down to chat, drop a comment or DM me and we’ll find a time that works. Would really appreciate the chance to learn from you 🙏
      Thanks!

Is there a code reader available for the Coleman UTV 400?  I tried using the HUD ECU Hacker software and cables/adapters but no luck OBD to delphi 6 pin and KKL VAG as well as ELM327.  Will not connect.  I was able to get it to connect randomly a couple of times, but haven't been able to since.  I was able to clear and read the codes briefly.  I'm aware of the Tiny Scan 301 but it doesn't seem to be readily available.  There's a few out there but they are expensive.
