Hi,

I'm in the market for a hunting/ ice fishing utv. I've been looking at the normal group (Ranger, pioneer, defender, general, wolverine, etc.) of used units and came across a 2014 Joyner R2. It's got a full cab, heater and a winch.  Supposedly no mechanical issues. They're asking $7K. I've never heard of the brand and have been doing some internet research. It sounds like the older units had issues but the newer units since 2014 are better. The utv is exactly what I'd like to have but I'm just looking for advice from folks who know more about these units. Thanks for the help.

I've said this on other posts.  You'll find die-hard fans for any brand of UTV/SxS.  There is no perfect UTV.  Even brand name UTVs have issues with broken/overheated/burnedf belts, drive shafts, CV joints, engines, etc. especially when driven beyond their capability.  I bought a used Joyner (paid $7k 3 years ago) because 1) I pave my own roads, 2) I can't see spending $20k-$30k+ for a "pretty" UTV that I might ride a few times a year.  It's just not in my budget.  The early Joyners had quality control issues, but they've seem to have improved.  In other posts, the differenials seem to be a weak point.  But I believe that the failures might be related to driving them beyond their limitations.  I'll admit that UTVs with CVTs are easier to drive.  The Joyners with the clutch and 5-speed transmissions require you to take an active role in managing power to the drive axles.  The John Deere 825i uses the same Chery engine (800cc) as the early Renegades.  One model of the Kawasaki also uses a Chery engine.  If the UTV has a gasoline engine (3-cyl 800cc or 4-cyl 1100cc), it just might be a Chery engine.  Those owners probably don't know that they are driving Chinese "junk".  The larger displacement Chery engines are relatively common in cars sold in Asia, Africa and South America.  In 2014, the Renegade has the 1100cc engine - same as their Trooper.  The Joyner and Troopers are wide machines (60in); you may be limited to where you can ride on narrow trails.  I did a search for UTV recalls.  Most brand name UTVs & ATVs have had recalls.  I couldn't find any recalls for Joyner Troopers or Renegades.  Maybe they just don't issue recalls whether needed or not.  Support for these UTVs however, may be difficult to find.  Dealerships aren't as wide spread as name brand UTVs.  I haven't experienced any issues with my UTV - yet.  I use mine as a means of transportation in the backwoods, not as a race car to jump over cliffs. Personally, I like my Renegade.

Anyone know anything about the Massimo Warrior 1000 MXD Crew UTV? I like the look but don't know anyone that owns one. All feedback is appreciated.

Hello! I picked up a Facebook especial and was curious if I could get some help identifying what exactly it is. It was labeled as a Mossimo 500, but I can't confirm that. The closest I've seen is a Hisun Supermach 500. I bought it as a project but without knowing exactly what it is and the year it's hard to buy parts for it.
What I do know is that it has the Hisun 500cc carbureted engine, and I can share the VIN if that helps.
      Here are some photos

      Thanks in advance

I got a utv from lowes it has one tire in the back that is the same size as the front tires so it has 3, 26-9-14 and 1 26-11-24. i want to change the rear tire to the same one as the other. So instead of buying a new rim will a 26-11-24 tire fit on a 26-9-14 rim.

I purchased a new 2023 Landmaster UTV L4 in October of 2023.  UTV didn't seem to have as much power of the demo L4 that I drove but figured once it broke in it would be better.  After about a week the unit started bogging down backfiring and stopping.  Gas fumes really bad, wait a few minutes and it would start up again.  Brought it back to the dealer and after keeping it for a few weeks said he couldn't find anything wrong with it.  Got it back home and it started acting up again, brought it back to dealer a week later and he said he found couple things that might cause it to do run bad and he was able to replicate the issue but didn't really know what was wrong.  Got it back home again after being at dealer for several weeks and the unit started running bad again right away.  Brought it back to dealer and he went back and forth with Kohler about possible fixes but just checked somethings and try to swap a few parts but still runs bad.  I called Landmaster HQ to speak with someone about a refund and was told that was handled at the dealer level.  Dealer called Landmaster and they told him they didn't do refunds or exchanges especially with units that had problems.  The dealer is now trying to get a new engine to but I have not heard anything as of yet.  I did file complaint with Better Business Bureau and they accepted my claim and reached out to Landmaster.  The National Service Manager called me and said the he had been contacted by the BBB about the complaint and he would look into it.  I told him that I would just like to have my down payment of $2,000.00 returned and never mind the over $1,000.00 I have paid in notes for a UTV that I cannot even ride on without hoping it gets me around the neighborhood.  I have found out that the 2024 Landmaster UTVs will have Vanguard engines due to issues with the Kohler engines.  Very disappointed in what is "Proudly Made in the USA" and the way Landmaster has treated this disabled veteran!
