CPSC, Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. announce recall of Kawasaki Teryx® and Teryx4™ recreational off-highway vehicles.

The following product safety recall is being conducted voluntarily by Kawasaki in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. For more information about recalls, visit CPSC’s website at http://www.cpsc.gov.

Name of Product: Teryx and Teryx4 recreational off-highway vehicles.

Units: Approximately 2,625.

Distributor: Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., Foothill Ranch, CA

Hazard: The left side upper knuckle joint nut could have been improperly tightened, potentially affecting steering control.

Incidents/Injuries: There have been no incidents or injuries related to this recall.

Description: The recall involves 2019 and 2020 model year Teryx4 750 4x4 (four seats) and Teryx 800 4x4 (two seats) recreational off-highway vehicles.

Manufactured in: United States

Sold at: Kawasaki dealers nationwide from May 2019 through July 2019. Prices for these off-highway vehicles range from about $13,000 to about $17,000.

Remedy: The repair consists of tightening the upper left front knuckle nut and installing a new cotter pin.

      2002 ranger 500 4x4 stopped running and wouldn't restart. Service manual wiring diagram helped identify the hub safety switch as the culprit. Using jumper wires to bypass  switch allowed the engine to start and run normally. Inspection of switch showed melted epoxy and a strong smell of burnt electrical. Unable to find replacement part either used or new. Is there a work around other than jumper wiring?

      This is an interesting read. ADAS is main stream on cars these days. The technology looks to be headed towards UTVs and Off-Road Vehicles.

      I'm looking at picking up this UTV and this is what the owner says:
      "All I know about it is it runs. Display does not work and it will not move! Front end or trans could be locked up. It moves some, but does not sound good."
      My question is, what could the moving issue be, and how can I check it out when I look at it? I feel the price is right at $2000, but I'd like to know what I'm getting into.

      I have a 2018 cub cadet challenger 750 with a broke chinese hisun motor and I know that I'm not alone! Almost all the places that were selling them in Colorado don't anymore due to the return for repairs on the clutches and broken timing chains! Don't have yours fixed because it will happen again! They just replace the broken parts with more junk chinese parts! I talked with a UTV mechanic that has replaced one person's clutch 4 times! I have people contacting cub cadet about these problems and also looking into complete motor replacement from hisun junk to a Japanese motor in which the chinese cloned their junk from.

      looking around and cannot find and Stampede motors, the Havoc looks to directly bolt in, with exception of the larger displacment. has anyone looked into this further? seems to be a better option considering stampede engines are on backorder.
