I have a 2005 Polaris Ranger 4 x 4, I have all forward gears but I have no reverse.  The gear selector is working but after this reverse in not engaging anyone have the same issue and if so how do I go about fixing it?

You'll have to follow that linkage,  physically follow it. Check the lever under the dash n stuff for obstruction, but mostly wherever it ends up.  To see that its clear, and operating properly.  Sometimes branches, and stuff can foul the linkage. Cables can break, or jam. But since yours is catching the forward gears, its probably not a broken cable. It could still be jammed. I'm always pulling branches out from underneath mine. But it all starts there. Where it goes into the transmission, or transfer case, or differential. Wherever it goes.  Make sure its operating the lever, or otherwise working properly. After that, it's mechanic territory. But you have to eliminate the simple stuff first.

No fouling of anythIng up front, this looks is all mechanical something is not quite right in the gear box.  I'll keep everyone posted in what I find

Finally found the issue when we got the gear casing out and opened up, it would seem the reverse chain had snapped, resulting in no reverse.   After much swearing and cursing , and waiting for parts, the new chain, we finally had success.   I notice that the grinding sound, which seem to be a problem with a lot of the polarises especially in reverse has now gone.

Changing the chain was interesting as there was nothing on YouTube that tells you how to put the new chain on.  I had to remove both the bearing and the dog engagement face also the gear-33T, 6 face engagement, once you do this the chain will basically slip on into place, you have to do this, otherwise the chain will not go on.   There are some good videos on you Tube that you should watch before attempting to do this.   One last thing, check that the gears are engaging and in the right place before putting the gear case back into the body.

If I can answer questions regarding this please don't hesitate to drop me a line.

I have the same issue on my 2008 Ranger.  I'm  new to trying to repair it myself.  So this is a really stupid question, is the reverse chain in the transmission housing? All the YouTube videos I watch everything is already broken down.

We have a 2018 Cub Cadet Challenger 400 and I found this Internally Threaded Bolt with a 10mm head size laying in the floor of the shop bay here on our ranch where we park the Cub Cadet.
Trying to figure out where it belongs...

I've had a Hisun Vector E1 for just a bit longer than is required for me to do some maintenance. While it's well-overdue, it only drives 1.5km a few times each week on a fairly decent gravel road (to the letterbox), and it has worked really well right from the get-go.
Looking at the manual it states that I need to use SAE80 API GL-4 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Main gear Case, and SAE80 API GL-5 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Front gear Case - unfortunately i can't find either of those online here in Australia. Plenty of options that look close, but, as someone who has never driven any vehicle before, I want to use the right thing and it's a tad confusing.
My question: Since there are no oils that are bang on SAE80 (they all seem to cover a range) would Liqui Moly Hypoid GL4 Gear Oil 80W-90  & Motorex Hypoid GL-5 Gear Oil 80W90 - be ok to use? (Or any other suggestions of what I might be able to purchase online in Australia) And would I have to drain out any existing oil from both gear cases?
This is a whole new world for me and  being able to find exactly what is specified in the manual hasn't made this easy!

      Hi
I have a 2022 hisun sector eps 550. 30amp fuse is blown for eps. Checked the motor and it’s fine. Opened up the controller and found a bad diode. Dealer wanted 500$ for the controller. Just posting this in case it helps someone. I couldn’t read numbers from the old one so just took a guess and replaced it with a 100v 3amp diode.

My buddy has a ut400 that the forward gear keeps popping out of gear. She only has like 400 miles on the odometer .the shift cable has been adjusted and the shift lever has been updated / modified. All other gears are good. Is there an internal detent cam or something that wears out or shift fork that can be replaced ? Or is there some other magic that I can perform ? Looks like the engine needs to be split.
