Just from an engineering / manufacturing point of view (I'm electrical, so grain of salt here) the cover should be a stamped piece, or maybe even molded - same difference, you make one and then you make 10000. the steering shaft, now that has to be cut, maybe turned, maybe threaded, Someone has to touch each one - that's the part that's going to be as rare as TP (sorry) - Since i got ya, I have put every incentive dollar into dressing my pro-fx out; adventure package and curtis plow. I am coming unglued waiting for it.

Incentive dollats of 500 parts and 500 cash dont go far.

I have a Pro Ranch Edition paid for in early Feb. Took advantage of all the incentives for lights and cover. Our dealership is closed here in California but may do the service if the parts come in. Really frustrating waiting this long and the only info we're getting is off of forums like this.

Especially when you live in Illinois and they charge a tax of over 6% on rebates.

I believe the issue Kawasaki was initially having was they cannot post a Recall until approved by the Feds. Through December and January, the Feds were very slow to respond to the paperwork. Once they got it approved, the second approval was very quick. Now just to wait on the parts

It's a number they picked, oddly enough the lowest number they could and still keep some customers - personally, I got $500 accessory, 500 cash, 500 time to ride, 500 Kawi Kash and 250 veteran discount. it doesn't make the waiting any easier, but...

I want to take a moment to thank each and every forum member who have posted on this thread. You guys have provided me with so much more information than my dealer or Kawasaki. I would be remiss if I didn't mention a couple of chuckles along the way as well.

I truly appreciate your taking the time and making the effort to share the information you have gathered.

A recall is a big deal, some more than others. I started in a medical device manufacturer and still want to say the 'R word'. The conspiracy part of me thinks they knew about the steering shaft for a while and just told people 'you were abusing it'.  Later, they started getting reports of fires in the winter 'I  was just pushing snow and it started on fire' is a hard argument. so now you have to talk to the gov't, who you tell the second week 'since we're such a responsible company, and we already have the paperwork going - give us a chance to fix this steering shaft that people are abusing'. I would guess they had the tooling drawn up and scheduled the time at the factory before December for delivery in Feb/Mar. Then things didn't quite work out... for any of us.

My suspicion is that Kawi knew they had the steering issue so they stalled the first recall on purpose  (utilizing slow government process to their advantage) until steering fix was figured out.  The part they didn’t anticipate is the Coronavirus messing up their cheap manufacturing sources.  I bet they could have paid more to another manufacturer and already have parts, but now Coronavirus has the whole world messed up.

I went to a motorcycle show and got a voucher/coupon that I had to validate online - when I told the dealer i went to the show, he sighed and said 'let me guess..' - That's when I said I wanted the veterans discount too. Guess i can't claim to never even taken a free meal for being a vet anymore. Oddly enough, they never asked me for the online code.

I wonder how many units they have sold already waiting for the kits? Surely we will be the ones getting them first?

I can't remember the number, but they did give me one. It was for sure between 2000-3000. I made the comment I was surprised it wasn't more than that. They said many people gave up and went to something else including two of their customers.

I guess many people don't have our patience (or ignorance) depending on how you look at it. Lol!

I'd say they don't have patience.

Every Mule I've ridden in and seen has been a Tank. Hopefully they will fix this issue right and learn not to cheap out in the future.

A while back they told me they had the parts for the breather issue in stock. The three kits they recieved are for the steering issue. They said they would be installing all parts immediately  and I have now moved from number 7 to number 4. I will be happy to post when I hear anything else. Good luck!

I spoke to my dealership yesterday - they actually called me.  They have more than 20 units sold waiting on the parts, but they told me I am near top of list based on my purchase date - I guess they are treating parts as first sold, first gets parts,  Anyway, they told me parts are shipped and should be here next week at latest if they don’t arrive today or tomorrow.

Bit of background. First the machine would take for ever to start. So I adjusted the valve shims into spec and made sure the timing is correct. Starts perfectly now.

now it fluctuates on idle. Bogs down, Revs up, repeat. I noticed the fuel pressure drops from 60psi to 20psi while that happens. It also bogs down at the lower end of each gear, higher rpm seems to be fine. Seems to struggle under load. In neutral it revs up perfectly.

brand new fuel pump, fuel filter, gas. I noticed on the fuel pressure regulator there’s that vacuum nipple, it’s not attached to anything and I’m not sure where it would go. Possibly the problem?

Another issue is the tip off the end of the exhaust is broken off, sensor is still attached and connected. Could that cause these issues?

my next plan was to look into the pressure regulator and voltage to fuel pump while driving. Is there anything I’m missing or any ideas you guys have?

      thanks!

I purchased a new 2023 Landmaster UTV L4 in October of 2023.  UTV didn't seem to have as much power of the demo L4 that I drove but figured once it broke in it would be better.  After about a week the unit started bogging down backfiring and stopping.  Gas fumes really bad, wait a few minutes and it would start up again.  Brought it back to the dealer and after keeping it for a few weeks said he couldn't find anything wrong with it.  Got it back home and it started acting up again, brought it back to dealer a week later and he said he found couple things that might cause it to do run bad and he was able to replicate the issue but didn't really know what was wrong.  Got it back home again after being at dealer for several weeks and the unit started running bad again right away.  Brought it back to dealer and he went back and forth with Kohler about possible fixes but just checked somethings and try to swap a few parts but still runs bad.  I called Landmaster HQ to speak with someone about a refund and was told that was handled at the dealer level.  Dealer called Landmaster and they told him they didn't do refunds or exchanges especially with units that had problems.  The dealer is now trying to get a new engine to but I have not heard anything as of yet.  I did file complaint with Better Business Bureau and they accepted my claim and reached out to Landmaster.  The National Service Manager called me and said the he had been contacted by the BBB about the complaint and he would look into it.  I told him that I would just like to have my down payment of $2,000.00 returned and never mind the over $1,000.00 I have paid in notes for a UTV that I cannot even ride on without hoping it gets me around the neighborhood.  I have found out that the 2024 Landmaster UTVs will have Vanguard engines due to issues with the Kohler engines.  Very disappointed in what is "Proudly Made in the USA" and the way Landmaster has treated this disabled veteran!

Hello everyone! I am new here and have no experience with UTVs but I am quickly getting some. I have a shifting problem where I can shift through all gears without the engine running but as soon as I start the engine I can not select a gear. Yes, foot is on the brake and yes the pin is being pulled to go into reverse if I was to try going into reverse. The shift lever does not move. I adjusted the linkage to get more accurate shifting with the engine off so I know those are now correct. I opened the shift lever housing to inspect the teeth on the gear and found this picture below. Why is this oil so milky looking? I assume with oil like this I'll need to replace the wet clutch as well but am not positive. Does anyone have any input into how to flush this system and get things shifting correctly? Thanks in advance for all the help!

Hi everyone. I am new here to the forum and am excited to learn from all of you with more experience than me with UTVs. Our Axis750 we use on the hobby farm started to have some issues going into gear. Yes, foot is on the brake and completely stopped as required with these machines. I thought it was the linkage and adjusted it to where it is accurately shifting with the engine off and key in the on position. I start the engine and it won't shift gears (yes foot is on the brake). I thought maybe it was the shift lever teeth so I opened the assembly and this picture shows what I just found. I assume this means the wet clutch would need replaced too while draining and flushing the oil. What else should I consider or be looking at? Any idea what could cause this? I don't see visible leaks or cracks in the system anywhere. Thanks in advance for the help!
