T-boss 410 Posted March 14, 2020 #1 Posted March 14, 2020 Is there one on these UTV's? Almost every time I start it, it takes a few tries. I get nothing when I hit the key, no sound or anything. Maybe something in the ignition switch? Thanks!
Travis Posted March 17, 2020 #2 Posted March 17, 2020 Yep, anything that has a starter has a solenoid. Usually if the solenoid is bad it clicks. Then eventually poof, nothing. Id check all connections on the solenoid, and battery first
T-boss 410 Posted March 17, 2020 Author #3 Posted March 17, 2020 I appreciate the reply. I know the battery terminal connections are tight. I will check the other connections tomorrow. Thanks again!
Travis Posted March 17, 2020 #4 Posted March 17, 2020 I just remembered, I had a problem like this with my Mule once. It turned out to be the neutral safety switch. Which prevents it from starting in Forward or reverse. Not sure if yours has one though.
T-boss 410 Posted March 17, 2020 Author #5 Posted March 17, 2020 That sounds like what my problem is. Where is the neutral safety switch located?
Travis Posted March 17, 2020 #6 Posted March 17, 2020 Most likely it is located on the transmission, with a single wire going to it. Oh, have you checked battery voltage?
T-boss 410 Posted March 17, 2020 Author #7 Posted March 17, 2020 The last time I checked the battery was when I recharged it. Not since then, but I will do that. I will also check for the neutral safety switch. Thanks!!!
