We have a trooper 1100.... New to this UTV thing. It's used and we are trying to fix it up. It's missing 3rd and 4th gear (manual). It will go into the gear but the gears do not engage. Also the ignition key switch just crapped out.....usually have to tap the solenoid anyway to get it started (needs new starter) Overall, having one hell of a time trying to find parts. Can anyone help or point in the right direction?

Welcome to the forum!

I would advise that you have the stock starter rebuilt. An aftermarket starter isn't as solid as the one that typically comes in a machine from the factory.  And the rebuild is significantly cheaper than a new OEM quality starter. Plus the fact that it's absolutely guaranteed to fit perfectly.

The ignition switch is an easy test, and should be an easy replacement.

The transmission sounds like the hardest part. And will probably have to come out. Check the linkage on the outside of the transmission first, as it's possible that something came apart there on the outside. To get a look at the inside.  There's probably an inspection plate, but unless it's a slipped pin or something easy. It'll have to be out for disassembly. Which would be necessary if it's a broken tooth on a gear. But that seems unlikely,  since it's two gears that're affected. Transmissions aren't complicated, and they're pretty generic in their construction. So any transmission shop could do the work. If you don't have the skill, or confidence to tackle it.

But you'd probably have to take it in completely removed from the vehicle. Do not take it apart unless you are going to fix it.  Transmission shops charge a premium, if it comes in disassembled. Drain it , and open up the inspection plate, and look inside first. Like I said, it might just be a pin has fallen out. Pay close attention to the shifting forks, as it sounds a bit like it might be the problem.

Parts will likely be hard to find. But that's not to say impossible. Travis is very resourceful in finding those hard to find parts.

I just purchased a starter for $168. The way I found it was by doing a Google search for the part number that is in the parts manual. I also found a fuel pump this way. The starter I purchased claims to be a newer improved version of starter vs. the original. I will be installing it tomorrow.

Glad you got that part worked out. About that ignition switch test. There's probably a YouTube on it. They all pretty much test the same way. Just takes a multi meter. And you test each position for continuity.

You could just replace it, but only if you're absolutely certain that it's bad. Every time I think that I have a bad switch. It always turns out to be something else.

I've had a Hisun Vector E1 for just a bit longer than is required for me to do some maintenance. While it's well-overdue, it only drives 1.5km a few times each week on a fairly decent gravel road (to the letterbox), and it has worked really well right from the get-go.
Looking at the manual it states that I need to use SAE80 API GL-4 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Main gear Case, and SAE80 API GL-5 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Front gear Case - unfortunately i can't find either of those online here in Australia. Plenty of options that look close, but, as someone who has never driven any vehicle before, I want to use the right thing and it's a tad confusing.
My question: Since there are no oils that are bang on SAE80 (they all seem to cover a range) would Liqui Moly Hypoid GL4 Gear Oil 80W-90  & Motorex Hypoid GL-5 Gear Oil 80W90 - be ok to use? (Or any other suggestions of what I might be able to purchase online in Australia) And would I have to drain out any existing oil from both gear cases?
This is a whole new world for me and  being able to find exactly what is specified in the manual hasn't made this easy!

I just purchased a used 2023 Massimo warrior UTV SxS 1000mx with 600 miles on it. I didn't even get a full day of riding and the driver's side rear axle broke. I'm pretty sure it was already going bad because we would hear a noise once in a while. I'm wondering if anyone else has had problems with theirs. Also looking for places to buy accessories.
