Thanks, from one Texas old codger to another Texan,  good idea, I ordered an 12 volt oil scavenger suction oil changer pump yesterday for $18 plus change from Amazon.  I also have a set of 1/2" metric deep sockets to pull the dipstick/oil filler bushing out with, I didn't get the original Spark plug wrench looking tool from the P.O. I think the dipstick tube will pass thru the 1/2" square opening in the deep socket if not I will drill it out and weld another 1/2"socket on top of it.  I have an old automatic tranny filler extended funnel to refill the oil sump with. I saw in the owner's manual that the engine holds 0,34 gallons, what a figure for an oil change! I also got a six pack of quarts of Valvoline Motorcycle/ ATV, etc., etc. conventional 10W - 40W oil ordered from Walmart.com  ($18 plus change), since I live over 40 miles from a Walmart store. The $5.99 shipping for a purchase under  $35 is a bargain for me.

I want to extend my thanks to all that have posted about this subject which is hardly worth reading in the manual

So, are you saying that it would be a waste of money to purchase the service manual?

No,  but the time it takes  to read the thing , may out weigh the useful content, it did for me.  The pictures are few and far between and most of the directions apply to components already taken out of the UTV, how to get them out are saddly missing, like the getting to magneto, getting to the drive clutches, and belts, not even any info  wrench sizes or anything on the electric winch .

I had already ordered a paper one when I received the download from Matt and it took it a couple of weeks to get here (from less than 140 miles) the price is outrageous , By the way. I felt like I had just gave away over $75 plus tax, shipping, and etc.,etc. I am familiar about Service manuals on a great number of old cars.   I used to restore vintage Chevrolets from the 1920s 30s and up thru the 1970s  so I have a fairly good idea what a "service-manual" should contain, I like exploded diagrams and understand what really informative images of components should look like.  (BTY I don't read Chinese, and there seems to be much lost in the translation)

Since I have the service manual downloaded on several devices and the hard copy in the shop I have used some of it, the basic stuff is the same as the original owners manual like the service manual does not have the enlightening  information that the oil filling amount is  .34 gallons.

I guess I'll hold off then. I thought it was a ridiculous price, but I would have bit the bullet if it was useful.

I enjoy doing my own repairs on my vehicles, and I don't know how I would find any useful information if and when I need it, but I would prefer to avoid the frustration of having an expensive service manual that won't offer any real help.

I assume that there is no aftermarket manual? I get some good information from a tech at Massimo, but I'm sure he won't continue to give me that info, since it's taking work away from a service center, and I would think he has enough to keep him busy without me bothering him.

Not that I’ve been able to find. I’ve looked for Massimo, Bennche, Cazador, Linhai, etc. since they are all the same with different badges.  Does not seem to be any aftermarket info out there yet. We are on our own!  If you find something, I’m sure everyone would be interested.

Your best bet would to send a Personal Message to strike250, include your want for a Buck 400 service manual and he can email you and include an attachment that can be downloaded, It will have everything included in the $75 hard paper version except the binder and fancy outer cover.

They are the same engine, at least according to their own website. Both are powered by a 352cc fuel injected engine, which puts out 25.5 hp. My owner's manual says to use fuel with a minimum of 90 octane.

I don't know about the rest of the drivetrain, chassis, etc.

The Buck is particular about gas to prevent the EFI from fouling.   It recommends alcohol free 90 octane.

Where did you find that information?  The label on my buck specifically states 87 octane. See bottom left of pic. It is also a 390.8 cc   Top left

Use only unleaded gasoline. The use of leaded gasoline will cause
severe damage to internal engine parts, such as the valves and piston
rings, as well as to the exhaust system.
Use 90 octane or higher gasoline

That's a quote from the owners manual

Well. yesterday I was able to get my oil changed and it was a JOB.  My neighbor has a lift in his garage so we put it up and used an impact driver to get the drain plug out.    That spring shot out and we made a mess.

Lucky for me, he's a mechanic.  We found this manual online

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1356653/Bennche-Bighorn-400.html?page=104#manual

We ended up changing the gear oil in the final and differential cases per the manual.  The final had some nasty gunk in it.

If you are not mechanically inclined, I suggest taking it to a service center and have them do the required maint.

Fired her up, put it in low,  drove around and up and down our steep hills 4X.  Never took it out of low and NEVER saw the CEL.

Prolonged downhill in N or L does not set off the CEL but H does.

Circling back on this out of curiosity...

Did the oil change fix the CEL in H gear?  Or did you find something else?

I'm looking to purchase a 2015 Massimo 550 that might have an issue with it's throttle position sensor.
From the fella selling this UTV, he claims its to set the idle on fuel injection because the engine will not stay idle or when it starts sometimes it idles too high.
My Question if anyone had any issues with their Massimo 550 and if it was actually the TPS or something else that would allow the machine to idle correctly.
      Thanks!

i have a 2011 hisun ys 400  idles high, once in awhile, runs horrible under load. iv'e put several differant carbs on it , cleaned the gas tank , took off the vaccum fuel pump and put  an
electric fuel pump.  no change HELP
this is a carburated engine, but was wondering is there any electrical components that meter the fuel flow,  like  mass air flow senser or something like that could be causing the fuel delivery
      problem.
ps i have owned this rig since it was new , and haven't had a full  year of flawless riding.

oh and bought it from menards and told me i was stuck with it.

Hi I'm about to order parts to do a bunch of work on my Massimo. Does anyone know if there's a difference in the top end kit {piston, Cylinder, Rings, Gaskets, Piston Pin} if it has a carb or EFI? I'm EFI and I think some came with a carb so I thought i'd ask before making a mistake...
      Thanks Jerr

Recently, my unit Axis 500 (2020) will only go into reverse and neutral. I am not able to get high or low. The engine itself sounds fine and I do not have other issues on this unit. I change the engine oil but have not yet changed the gear oil.
Before this happened I occasionally encountered issue where going from reverse to high gear, it would grind some and i had to reposition to shift into high gear. I also for last couple weeks heard a squeaking sound. I couldn't tell what it was. Was looking for a grease point I missed.
The unit has around 70 hours and is kept in the garage.
Anyone else encounter this type of scenario? Any suggestions on troubleshooting would be appreciated. Thanks.
