Hi everyone, this is my first forum.

I purchased 2 Coleman 250 UTV for around the house.

It's perfect for running back and forth to the barn.

I have 3hrs on both machines and the units are sputtering. I used 94 Octane gas. I'm hoping someone might have an idea.

Could be water in the fuel, either empty some gas from the unit into a clear container, or the can you fill them up with, and let it sit for about 10 minutes, see if there is any sepration  as the water and ethanol will form a line between the gasoline.

It might be helpful to tell you the whole story.

When I purchased it 3 days ago.

I had a bunch of issues.

Gas pouring through the vent hose.

Missing parts, broken springs on the brake pedal. Brake cable slipping. I can with all honesty say quality control is not a priority.

gas pouring out the vent hose,,,, sounds like the float/ float needle isn't metering the fuel flow to the carburetor...

i read that most Coleman's have a 2 year warranty, sounds to me like you need to save some headache, file a warranty claim, for the running issues, and the crap QC.

Or contact Coleman (which i think is manufactured by HiSun motors) and ask them if they've ever heard of the Lemon Law.

Don't believe everything you read.

I said shipped fully assembled.

I assembled it. That's why I'm missing parts. The engine came fully intact. The roof, seats and tipping box in boxes.

I looked at the one in the store I bought it from. There missing parts too.

I will proceed to make a claim in the morning.

Thanks a bunch.

There's been so many people having various Quality control problems with these Coleman/HiSun machines it's not even funny...

I hope they get everything right for you.

Hi guys,

Just an update.

I returned both Coleman UTV 250.

After preparing a list of 38 issues on both UTV's.

Distributor agreed to take them back, and exchange for 2 Coleman 400 cc.

I might be asking for trouble or trouble just fines me.

Thanks for your support.

This forum is awesome. Keep up the good work.  5 stars for us newbies.

I've got a 2023 UT400 (bought from tractor supply) and I've been beating my head against a wall with it.
It will start and idle perfectly. The second I touch the throttle it sputters and dies.
I've checked that the fuel pump is working  (it is).
I've replaced the injector, throttle position sensor, O2 sensor, and intake air sensor. All with no change.

I've just taken a look a the schematic, and there is a crank position sensor as well.

Could this be the source of my troubles? If so, where is this thing located? I can't seem to find it on any drawings from the parts suppliers.

My buddy has a ut400 that the forward gear keeps popping out of gear. She only has like 400 miles on the odometer .the shift cable has been adjusted and the shift lever has been updated / modified. All other gears are good. Is there an internal detent cam or something that wears out or shift fork that can be replaced ? Or is there some other magic that I can perform ? Looks like the engine needs to be split.
