Good Morning Folks..Happy New Year, I have been having some intermittent issues with my 2015 American Landmaster LM500 not going into neutral. Seems if I shut the engine off it would pop into neutral. Yesterday I was splitting firewood with a 500 pound log splitter that I pushed to my wood area up a slight grade. I was not able to get it into neutral which I assumed was due to the pressure of the weight of the splitter pushing back. after I finished splitting wood, I used the weight of the splitter to roll back down the hill to my driveway. I unhooked the splitter but still could not get it to go into neutral or start. I dragged it back into my barn with my mower as I don't leave anything outside over night. I am at a loss what to check to try to fix this. I use my UTV (Eustas) every day that I am at my place where I keep it and will be lost without it. Thoughts?

Well folks I am not sure what I actually did, but I unplugged a few things and adjusted the one cable at the gear selector...I noticed a click sound when I turned the key...for grins a nd giggles I put the battery charger on the battery and the started started clicking...I removed the cables and cleaned everything up and with the charger on the started would spin...I removed the battery from my tow behind trail cutter and installed it in the UTV,,and HE IS ALIVE!..dont know what happened to the battery since I started him up yesterday afternoon and he started right up as usual...stranger things have happened....Happy New Year!

Glad to hear that you have it all sorted out. I was going to suggest checking the transmission oil. If it has any, some do, and some don't. That's always a good place to start. But a cable adjustment would make sense too.

I have a similar issue with my LM500 - apparently, the shifting is tied to the idle speed.  Mine won't come out of gear into neutral or reverse unless i cut the key for a second - just before it dies, i turn it back on. That seems to be just enough to allow the shifter to slide into neutral.  While it's not optimal, I've learned to use this method to make shifting much easier.  When i stop, I can't just put it into neutral, as it is often still in forward, even though the shifter is in the neutral position.  I cut the key off & let it almost die - and you can feel the shifter drop into neutral - then i turn the key back on & hit the gas to be certain I'm in neutral - otherwise, it won't start again, until I manipulate the shifter to get it into neutral.

I'm sure there is likely an adjustment I could make, but this method works fine for me & doesn't cost me a visit to the mechanic (which by the way - if I'd known how few & far between the dealers are, I likely would have bought something more mainstream.

The LM500 was discontinued - even though mine is a 2015 model (so I was told).  I got it for $500 a few years back & it had many upgrades (windshield, dump bed, roof, lights, mud flaps, winch, plow

It's been a good vehicle, but I  had to put a new carburetor on it last summer. After that, it runs great.

If it has a carburetor, then yes, it should be a simple adjustment. No specialized service center, or factory trained technician needed. Any qualified mechanic would likely have it fixed in moments. You can easily do it yourself if you're careful.

The idle itself can be tuned on some equipment, on others, an adjustment to the air/fuel mix would be the fix. It's the fuel injected, CPU controlled vehicles that are more complex, and require more extensive knowledge, and tools.

      My older LM 650 is blowing fuel into the air cleaner.  Any idea on what would cause this?  It is the Suzuki motor.  Not sure what model year it is.

      Will NOT START
      MY apologies if this is to much info just wanted to give yal the most information possible for help.
      I'm a so called diyer. An Electrician by trade 21yrs. I got my S×S from my last job. The contractor purchased this S×S for this specific job brand new, from Lowes. They used it for hauling materials, tools, & a little bit of anything you can think of on an Industrial type job site. 
      I remember getting on the SxS one time & pushed the gas petal all the way to the floor & SxS had very little power. 
      So anyway ,when the job finished up back mid July this year (7/2024) , I asked the contractor what they was going to do with it. I was told to take it. Otherwise it would go to the contractors yard (storage yard) & most likely rust away. 
      Took it home washed it , it had a heavy coat of dust on it & in it dust was every where. My helper & I had to push it on the trailer to get it home.  After washing it throughly I let it sit & dry out for a good day and half, maybe 2 days. Before trying to start it. NO START. Will turn over & try to start but thats it. 
      So here's what I've purchased & installed. New Air Filter, new spark plug, new air idle control valve (AICV), new throttle position sensor, new throttle body, new oxygen sensor, new digital dash speedometer/fuel gauge/clock. 
      Also drained the old oil & gas & replaced with new oil & 93oct. gas. I should probably mention that I've changed the AICV twice. The 1st time I changed the AICV I was able to get the SxS started & let idle for at least 10-15min. Drove out of the garage, with very little power,  turned it around & barely got it back in the garage.That was the one & only time I've been able to start the SxS. I've also cleaned the Throttle Body and & intake with TB cleaner.  So after that the AICV was  making weird noise so I pulled it out & tried cleaning it, pretty sure I messed it up. So I purchased a Throttle Body that came with new AICV & TPS. Still NO START.  I've checked the fuel pump & the fuel injector.  I took the injector off still hooked up to wiring & turned the key over, the injector sprayed a lot of gas out kinda the size of a volleyball. I've also checked the clearance gap on the intake & exhaust valve. But today 11/2/2024 I'm going recheck spark plug gap & the valve gaps. And alot of other checking. Would the driver side seat belt have anything to do with it not starting?? I know the driver side seat belt has to be in gauged for full throttle "going fast". Thing is the drv. side seat belt will latch but feels like might be messed up inside of it. Tired opening it up but to no avail.  I've never had a S×S or 4wheeler so I was really excited when I got the S×S,not so much anymore.  I work on & fix my own vehicles usually no problems.  But this SxS is kicking my ass.
      So if possible & someone could help me with some ideas or tell me what Im doing wrong or did wrong, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you for reading thus far.

      I have a 2014 odes 800 dom. I  have a wire in the same harness as the fuel pump plug ( just before it ) and it is not connected to anything t has a connector and a little brass connector on the end , I was wondering if anyone could tell me where it goes to

      This post will explain how to hook up your PC to the ECU of a Hisun/Coleman/Etc UTV to be able to read error codes & engine parameters for troubleshooting purposes.
      This is applicable to all small engines using the Delphi MT-05 ECU. This should cover all fuel injected Hisun models, as well as various other Chinese FI engines, as the Delphi MT-05 ECU seems to be the favored ECU solution.
      Even though we get actual engine error codes to display on the dash, sometimes we have “pending codes” (not yet confirmed by the ECU) or other intermittent issues that are hard to diagnose, for example a poorly connected sensor that may give intermittent false readings, or a sensor that’s putting out bad date, but not bad enough for the ECU to realize.
      The setup requires 2 cables, which are available for around $25 combined, a PC with a USB port, and some charityware software called “HUD ECU Hacker”. This gives the same functionality as the $300 dealer code scanner for a fraction of the price.
      In searching I found info about HUD ECU Hacker, but I have yet to see info anywhere about how to hook it up to a Hisun, so I took the leap and bought some cables, and made it work. I will show a step by step of how to do so in post two.
      I will be breaking this down into 2 posts:
      Delphi ECU Info & Overview (This post) System setup & use Delphi ECU Info (Skip ahead to the next post if your eyes glaze over technical details)
      The Delphi MT-05 ECU was developed to allow small engines to use fuel injection. A fuel injection system requires feedback from various sensors to operate efficiently. This feedback allows the adjustment of ignition timing, fuel injection volume, etc to efficiently and cleanly produce the most power possible from a given engine.
      The MT-05 ECU has a number of sensors that are required for proper functioning including; Coolant temp, crankshaft position, intake temp, intake pressure, exhaust O2, throttle position, as well as some other optional sensors that are used on more complex vehicles.
      From the sensors the ECU adjusts: Fuel injector timing/pulse, Idle air control valve, and ignition coil

      The Delphi MT-05 puts out diagnostic data, however it is not ODB2 like a modern car, where is where it gets tricky reading it. There are three options, there is an old 16 bit piece of software Delphi has that is not able to run on a modern computer, there is the motorscanner tool for dealers ($300), or there is freeware HUD ECU Hacker with the proper cables.
