I bought mine used with almost the same numbers (1700 miles, 3 yrs old).  Is this the original owner?  1600 miles in 3 years averages about 10 miles per week (in very round numbers).   How many hours are on the machine (if there's an hour clock on it)?  Divide 1600 by the number of hours will give you the average speed over the operating time of the vehicle.   High average speeds (>15+ mph) might indicate that it was driven mostly on smooth roads.   Low speeds may indicate a lot of slow driving as  what might be done on a farm.  Well maintained machines can last several thousand miles.  NADA lists this used machine at $11k - $14.5k depending upon condition.  KBB gives $10k price.  My thoughts on buying used is you may be buying someone else's problem child or, like me, you can get lucky and end up with a fine machine.  Take a good look at the cleanliness.  A well maintained machine won't have a lot of dirt or dried mud in the engine comparment.  Don't expect a perfect machine as it is given that there will be minor problems.  It's the major ones that may not manifest themselves until after you buy it that can be upsetting .

Hi all, I own two Axis UTV's. Last year I purchased a 2022 Axis 500. I had a mechanical issue with the shifting forks after only 50 miles. I contacted Axis/Hisun warranty dept. That were very helpful and willing to send out a representative to see if it was a warranty issue that fell under coverage.  Since I live in an area that does not have authorized repair facility within 300 miles. A really nice guy drove all the way from West Virginia which was 4 hours away. He determined that the console would not stay seated in position and while driving it, the console would jump forward and knock it into the wrong gear causing the shift forks to become bent. It was then picked up a few weeks latter to be repaired in Richmond, Virginia. It should arrive home soon.
Now to my question. After the 2022 Axis 500 was taken for repairs, I bought the 2024 550 Axis. I bought the first one to take my son who is disabled from an extremely rare disorder that requires daily care to get out of the house. There are two things that give him joy, music and going for rides.  That is why I purchased the first one, However because it had bucket seats and the engine was between the two and was too loud even though I deaden the sound and put a quiet muffler on it.
I then decided to purchase the Axis 550 for the great updated features and the bench seat, I will be buying the complete enclosure ad on's offered by Hisun. Since it does not come with a heater (Axis 750 does) I was wondering if anyone knows what heater is part of the 750 edition. There was a photo that showed a Firestorm brand, however I can not find what variation it is. If anyone knows what a Inferno heater would be correct for the Axis 550. I would like to install it this Winter to take Justin riding on the farm. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Brent

Recently, my unit Axis 500 (2020) will only go into reverse and neutral. I am not able to get high or low. The engine itself sounds fine and I do not have other issues on this unit. I change the engine oil but have not yet changed the gear oil.
Before this happened I occasionally encountered issue where going from reverse to high gear, it would grind some and i had to reposition to shift into high gear. I also for last couple weeks heard a squeaking sound. I couldn't tell what it was. Was looking for a grease point I missed.
The unit has around 70 hours and is kept in the garage.
Anyone else encounter this type of scenario? Any suggestions on troubleshooting would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use my Hisun 550 (with the Coleman stickers), for general work around my 10 acres of hilly land. Hauling firewood, some dirt and mulch, and debris clean up. Also felling dead standing trees in the woods and hauling rounds out to the barn for splitting/stacking.
Here's my question:  Those who use their UTVs with towed drag implements or snow plows, have you noticed any issues with early clutch slippage or failures?  Or premature belt wear?  Other drive line issues??
Thanks in advance for any experienced thoughts and comments.

Picked up an essentially new 2022 UT400 with 9 miles on it.  Decided to change the oil because it's probably never been done.  Pulled the dipstick and noticed it was overfull then went and pulled the drain plug and took off the filter and it was like brown water running out.  What should I start checking?
