Considering purchase of my first ever Ranger. It is an 2006 Model 700XP with 520 hours. The guy who has it is my buddy and it has been meticulisly maintained and pretty much never been off road.  Always garaged and ran easy. It comes with roof, winch, snowplow, and soft cab for plowing snow.  He was offered 6750.00 for it, but said if I wanted it he would take 6000.00  The paint (Blue Metalic) is very  good. Also 4 new tires. Is this a good price? Also can a guy get glass windshield and back glass?  How about hard doors with glass? How far can you go on a tank of gas? I know I have alot of questions. I live in Indiana and also was told we can drive on the county roads if you do a few things? What do I need to get it apporoved for road use? Thanks in advance for any input!

That price sounds good compared to what used rides were going for around here, especially if well cared for.    There are a ton of aftermarket accessories available for Polaris UTV's, haven't looked for hard glass but plenty of isinglass rear windows and plexi fronts.  A quick search  Amazon or ebay and you'll see plenty of choices.

As with any forum you join, there is a requirement for an obligatory introduction... and that seems fair. How else do you get that first post in there without jumping in with some stupid question right out of nowhere?

Hi. I'm Space Ghost. Well, not really, but that was my call sign on my last deployment before an IED made me non-deployable, and I an now retired/disabled, and living on my wonderful VA disability. I did almost 28 years in total between the Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard. 1 deployment with the Reserve (Desert Storm) and 3 with the Guard (1 pre, and 2 post 9/11)

Married (going on 30 years) one of each. (both out of the nest)

Just picked up my first side by side a couple days ago. A 2020 Can-Am Defender HD10 DPS 6x6.

It's in pretty good shape, but as you can probably tell, it's sitting a bit high. Former owner put a lifting collar on the shocks.

The good = almost 17" of ground clearance. (30" tires)
The bad = incredibly steep driveline angles, and a pretty stiff ride.

      They will be coming off.

Other than that... clean as a pin and appears very well maintained.

Looking forward to seeing what this forum can bring, and hoping I can bring something in return.

Picked up an essentially new 2022 UT400 with 9 miles on it.  Decided to change the oil because it's probably never been done.  Pulled the dipstick and noticed it was overfull then went and pulled the drain plug and took off the filter and it was like brown water running out.  What should I start checking?
