What type and brands of insulation do you use in the cabin, floor and engine compartment of your Massimo and related 4 by 4 UtVs specially Massimo Buck 400s?

what are you trying to accomplish.........?..............keeping warm in winter?.....if so, you will need a heat source.......i use a 2200 peak watt portable genny in bed of mule, hooked up to a 1500 watt space heater..............works great......no additional insulation

Well I'd also like to know what you guys in the engine compartment for sound deadening.  The 2013 cfmoto Uforce is murder on the ears.

I got some double sided foil heat shield with about 1/4 inch foam like middle off amazon. Haven't took time to install any of it yet. Have to install a snorkel for intake first. Since the intake is in the center console area. 

Once snorkel is installed to allow fresh air for the intake. Then install the heat shield and block that vent in center console. That will block a lot of the heat and hopefully some of the sound.

I want the sound of the engine to be dulled in the cabin and the heat from the engine reduced in the cabin in summer.

our mule has windshield and complete cab enclosure......engine noise isn't an issue as i normally have "radio headphones" on (and engine is only single cylinder 400 cc).....as for less heat in summer, windows down and i have a 12 volt fan for air circulation.........as i mentioned before, i use portable genny and space heater for heat, plus use the fan directed toward windshield to keep "fogging" to a minimum while plowing snow..........i am not familiar with cfmoto u force, but i am sure you can "mcgyver" something..........

if you are getting that much heat from engine into passenger area, your engine may be running excessively hot.. Once I corrected my overheating problems, the passenger area is not so hot

mackc, do you have an enclosed cab?  is your muffler in good shape? are massimo's air cooled?.............these types of utv's are never gonna be "quiet" until the do away with gas and go electric............

cant wait to pull an electric 4 seater UTV out of the swamp because the batteries died .   ,,,,,. if its really loud, your exhaust may be cracked near the head.. common om Massimo

Same problem with my 600 single cylinder.  Noise from engine bay. As said I have some heat shield / noise shield. Once I install it I will let you know if it makes a difference.  I'm on vacation next week and that is something I plan on doing.

I also had a 3010 Mule and sound wasn't a problem, this problem  was concerning a Massimo Buck 400.

      I have a 2017 Intimidator XD4 800cc 4x4.  It will run great and then it's like it goes into safe mode and only runs on 1 cylinder.  It's not fouling out the plug when it happens.  Some times when I stop and restart it, it works fine.  First I thought it was a spark issue, then a fuel issue, but I feel like it's a short in the wiring some place.

      I swapped out the Subaru motor for a Predator 670cc. If I remove the heat shield around the muffler, The stock muffler sits in there just fine with 1" to spare.
      Only problem is the exhaust exit is toward the back seat instead of out the back.
      Do you all think that the stock exhaust would be okay (just as effective) if cut a hole and welded a pipe on the reversed (opposite) end? Of course, plug the old exit end. Other option I thought of was to roll a tube 180° with a 7" center line radius and finish extention of 12" or so.
      Any thoughts?

      Can anyone tell me how to get the engine codes to display on a 2012 Bennche Bighorn 700X?  I played with the gauges once and lucked up on this but can't remember what I did.  Will the codes automatically display if there is a code or do you have to cycle through the display?

      Question, Does anyone know if a 700-cylinder, piston, and head fit on top of a 500-bottom end, Although I have a 500 and have rebuilt the 500 once, I'm thinking the lower end may be the same for both the 500 and the 700. Does anyone have information on that?

      24 Massimo Buck 250 Parking Brake Issue

      Hello all. I purchased a brand new Massimo Buck 250 EFI in June for our farm and I've had the parking brake fail on me twice. I have approximately 250 miles on the vehicle. The first time was less than a month after receiving the UTV. We all of a sudden lost brake pressure and it would not start. I tracked the issue back to the parking brake. Upon removing the chain cover, I noticed the brake pad was missing and the caliper piston was touching the rotor. I found a set of brake pads online and replaced them myself. It's worked for several months and just happened again. Seems like a design flaw. I'm reaching out to see if there's an upgrade option available, or if I should replace the entire caliper with the brake pads? Thanks in advance for any advise.
      I submitted a warranty claim, so I'll keep this updated with what Massimo replies.
