I have a 2008 Joyner Trooper 1100 T2. The Initial 3 second start up sequence will not go, but motor will turn over.

I have a 2008 trooper 1100 T2 which ran great, but the starter would not engage for a lot of clicks. I changed out the starter, careful to note one wire on the solenoid and 4 wires on the main starter motor post. After I finished, the start sequence where the two gages sweep back and forth and the fuel pump and fan turn on for 3 second, stopped working. I can not find any bad or loose wires, I tried changing out the ECU and can not find anything apparently wrong. Does anybody know what sensor error stop the initiation sequence.?

Dave, Thankyou for the reply. I've checked all the fuses and tested and swapped around the relays. I can hot wire the relays and the pump and fan run fine. I appears that the ECU is seeing some sort of error condition that will not allow it to start. I am new to the trooper world but have been wrenching for years. Not to good with the computer control stuff.

Dave, You nailed it. I had pulled two smaller wires to the starter that apparently were ground leads to the engine block. I took them off the starter and ran them through a small ground wire just in case, and it immediately did the warm up sequence and then started. I still need to check the wires to make sure that both of them go to the ground, but that is what looks like the problem. Thanks very much for your insight. Next time I better pay better attention to the wires when I take them off.

It is 3 small wires to one ground connection. All the wires are bundled together.
I’m on my 3rd starter in 7,000 miles of off-road. The most recent one I purchased spins the motor much better than the stock one or it’s replacement.

Wow, I spent a lot more than that. I think I paid $150 for it from Amazon. Funny thing is now the motor runs and all my running lights quit. That should be a lot easier to find. Weird part is that all the fuses are good, and it was working while the engine would not start. Go figure.

This is rocmoc/Michael one of the first on this forum when the Joyner was one of the most active topics.  First an update of others.  The earlier members will also remember Lenny and Jeff.  With myself we organized the first Jamborees in 2009-2012.  Sadly if you have not heard we lost both Lenny and Jeff in 2018.    A great loss to the community.  Myself:  Still around but rolled over to Jeep and Arctic Cat Wildcat.  The Wildcat  design still remains me of my old 2008 Trooper.  Doing well as the Last Man Standing but cleaning out the garage.  Found some New and used Trooper parts I will list in the parts section.  Wanted to give you all a chance before I list on Ebay.  As many of you knew Lenny listed a lot of stuff on Ebay.  Will I partnered a lot of the stuff with him and I still have stuff.  Take care and I will check in for message should you want to ride.  Still make it to Utah every other year and am still in Southern AZ.

Was using the machine all day to haul wood...no issues until the end...
When I try to start it, the dash lights come on but starter does not...seems like no power to the starter.
It is in park, but when I put the brake on to start, it registers N.
      Won't start in neutral either...
Tried rocking it, did not help...
