I've read indicators that some have upgraded or added to existing skid protection. Are their pictures available on this topic? Is the factory skid plate adequate for everyone? I personally considering upgrading to one single plate from front to back out of 1/8 steel for extra protection. This is after concaving 3 out of the 8 existing plates (and I haven't even hit the woods yet!). I am still debating on how to attach the plate to my unit. The extra weight is not too much of an issue for me. The addition would add about 117 lbs minus removal of the existing metal.

I have had zero problems with the skid plates and I have knocked the heck our of them. I modified my rear plate because the first Troopers' plates were ALL wielded on with zero access to components. I had to remove it to replace the rear driveling and only replace it then. This would be very low on my wish list.

Your skid plates must not be aluminum?

If rocmoc's were welded on they would have to be steel. Thats a lot stronger. I've bashed mine (aluminum) in too. sinced I lowered my diff, which now sticks about 3/4" below the frame, The plate under the diff and engine is 3/8" plate. Had a 3/16" plate first and destroyed it clipping a rock projecting out of the ground while I was going through a dip with a little speed. Actually had a Hex hole in the plate where the drain plug punched through. That was enough for me. The other plates arn't really strong enough. I'll replace mine at some point with aircraft aluminum, 7000 series. This is a lot stronger and a lot stiffer. It will be stronger then the steel and it isn't so soft like our current plates. I'll also cover the areas under the feet and seat as it makes a good catch area for rocks etc. I took a peice of 3/8" x 1" steel bar and cut it into about 1-1/4" lengths, drilled and tapped it for 3/8" bolts. Welded these to the tops of the existing tabs. I use grade 8 flat head socket cap screws. When I skid over a rock, it can't get ahold of it to knock the head off or fold it under.

Yeah i've beat the heck out of mine but i think the main problem is that the skid plates are in so many pieces and are mounted with light tabs. if the skid plate was one or two pieces it would be much stronger because it would have to pull and stretch the metal from the underside of the whole unit. i am eventually going to build a 1 piece from 3/16 aluminum and drill and tap holes in the frame to mount it. there is special washers out there that you drill a 1 inch hole in the skid plate and the washer is recessed so you can use a hex bolt without worrying about catching it on rocks or trees. Yamaha uses the same method, if you have a buddy with a rhino look at how his plates are mounted.

WOW! I never knew they went to alum, just assumed they took the same steel and bolted it. The Rhino that went with us the other day had the factory plastic plates. By the end of the day they were busted and hanging in a couple places.

The skid plate mounting method on mine sux!!!! so I'm changing them all to these speed nuts that leaves the head of the screw/bolt exposed instead of the nut, which was always getting buggered, so now I can get them out. My hopes are to put a one piece sheet of 3/8 or 1/2 inch nylon under the buggy like the off road racing trucks use. The aluminum on mine is diamond plate and very soft, so soft that it actually smears, I had to cut 3/8 inch off after hammering it flat when I took it off to work on my gas tank.

      This post will explain how to hook up your PC to the ECU of a Hisun/Coleman/Etc UTV to be able to read error codes & engine parameters for troubleshooting purposes.
      This is applicable to all small engines using the Delphi MT-05 ECU. This should cover all fuel injected Hisun models, as well as various other Chinese FI engines, as the Delphi MT-05 ECU seems to be the favored ECU solution.
      Even though we get actual engine error codes to display on the dash, sometimes we have “pending codes” (not yet confirmed by the ECU) or other intermittent issues that are hard to diagnose, for example a poorly connected sensor that may give intermittent false readings, or a sensor that’s putting out bad date, but not bad enough for the ECU to realize.
      The setup requires 2 cables, which are available for around $25 combined, a PC with a USB port, and some charityware software called “HUD ECU Hacker”. This gives the same functionality as the $300 dealer code scanner for a fraction of the price.
      In searching I found info about HUD ECU Hacker, but I have yet to see info anywhere about how to hook it up to a Hisun, so I took the leap and bought some cables, and made it work. I will show a step by step of how to do so in post two.
      I will be breaking this down into 2 posts:
      Delphi ECU Info & Overview (This post) System setup & use Delphi ECU Info (Skip ahead to the next post if your eyes glaze over technical details)
      The Delphi MT-05 ECU was developed to allow small engines to use fuel injection. A fuel injection system requires feedback from various sensors to operate efficiently. This feedback allows the adjustment of ignition timing, fuel injection volume, etc to efficiently and cleanly produce the most power possible from a given engine.
      The MT-05 ECU has a number of sensors that are required for proper functioning including; Coolant temp, crankshaft position, intake temp, intake pressure, exhaust O2, throttle position, as well as some other optional sensors that are used on more complex vehicles.
      From the sensors the ECU adjusts: Fuel injector timing/pulse, Idle air control valve, and ignition coil

      The Delphi MT-05 puts out diagnostic data, however it is not ODB2 like a modern car, where is where it gets tricky reading it. There are three options, there is an old 16 bit piece of software Delphi has that is not able to run on a modern computer, there is the motorscanner tool for dealers ($300), or there is freeware HUD ECU Hacker with the proper cables.

      I’m need a couple parts. Diff. Lock Actuator mainly. But I would like to find a donor that maybe has bad motor or something along those lines.

      Howdy new member here . My hobby's Rabbit dogs , gamefowl . I'm retired from my real job but I stay busy with the hounds and gamefowl . So to help around the farm I ran across an old 2007 CC Big Country 4x2 to haul feed , water , sprayer and my sorry a$$ .It is in pretty good shape , 781 hrs. good plastic , tires, ect. . But as anything outside and 18 years old it needs seats ! The thing I have found wrong mechically the Diff. Lock Acturtor is broken where it mounts to the bracket ( partly why Im here ) . Hoping someone here can help  ! Just my wish list but Id like to find a roll cage and a composit/plastic top for it Im thinking I'll need a donor to salvage these things from ( again partly why Im here ) .Is there another brand that uses this same actuator? If anyone reads this and has or knows of any of threse parts PLEASE HOLLER !!

      I'm working on a 2005 Cub Cadet side by side and I'm trying to remove the front two axles.  I have a slide hammer puller on the inner joint and with all my strength they will not budge.   Anyone have the same issues and is there something I'm missing or a trick of some sort to pull these out?   Any suggestions please and thank you.

      I need a pair of front shocks for a Landpride Treker 4200NT, from 2005?  Does anyone know of a good salvage yard - or another source?
      The old shocks have "SEBAC 11685 12 3" stamped on them (or something very close - it's hard to read). I think SEBAC are (were?) an Italian company.
      Is there a compatible shock I can use? I don't have easy access to a scrap yard where I can compare shocks etc.
