I'm taking my Trooper to the White Mountains for the summer, where there's lots of rain so I thought I better make some kind of a top. I had the material for a Bimini top but decided something more substantial was in order.

Instead of fabric I bought a 48"x48" piece of 1/8" ABS black plastic. The top took a piece 48"x33". The remaining piece I used to run behind the top down to the spare tire mount. That should keep a bit more of the rain out.

I used 1 1/2" foam pipe insulation around 3 sides of the top and attached the plastic sheet using cable ties. Using ties I can remove the top quickly. To stiffen the top I ran a piece of square aluminum running fore and aft along the center of the top.

Total investment was around $40.00. I'll let you know how it holds up in the Arizona sun.

Another product that may have worked is Coroplast, sort of like card board, but made out of plastic. I've found lots of uses for it.

I live in NH. Were you able to drive your Trooper on the roads? I registered my trooper as an ATV. Debating on trying and register as a car.

Here in Arizona many of the ATVs as well as off road cars are licensed for the street. My Trooper has a road license along with insurance, a off highway permit, and a state trust land permit.

The Trooper is not what you would call a good road car. It's to low geared for any real travel in traffic but it's fine for low speed driving. I trailer it when there is any great distance to travel.

To make things better for the road I replaced the off road tires with Super Swampers. They work fine for most any type terrain and don't shake you to pieces on the road. I've also have the same size wheels all around so I can carry one spare.

The top works well in the sun as well as rain. I did add a windshield but is it is next to worthless in the dust. I will put it back on when I return to the White Mountains in the rain.

Looking up NH law and it states that vehicle must meet United States Department of Transportation motor vehicle safety standards. Do you know where I could find this info out? If it is a will be able to reg in NH.

I looked at the New Hampshire laws on the Internet. Now I know why you're confused about how to go about licensing your Trooper.

This is the same guy I emailed regarding warranty work and he told me he does not work on Joyner vehicles. From info I found it doesn't look like I will be able to reg as a car without it meeting federal safety standards.

      I have a Joyner Trooper 1100 4 place that has been sitting for a number of years. I have everything taken care of but i can't get the fuel through the injectors. Fuel pump puts full pressure on them but they don't turn on or spray fuel. Any ideas?

      The conversion took about 350lbs. off the vehicle.  It never rode great, but now I feel every  crack in the road.  I have backed off spring compression nut to the point just under where they would move around if suspension was at full extension, but it is still very stiff.  I would like to put some softer coilover springs on it, but I have no idea what the spring rate is with the original springs so I would just be guessing on what to order.  Does anyone have the data for the original spring compression rate?  I am willing to give up a little ground clearance for a softer ride. Right now when sitting still the rear suspension is at or near full extension and the rear tires have several degrees of camber which will cause uneven wear if allowed to continue in this state.

      Recently I had an overheating issue on my 2022 Coleman Outfitter 550 (Hisun UT550) and to check to make sure it was fixed I took it out for a ride around the block. After a couple cycles on the LED coolant meter, I took it for a couple mile ride and on my way back I heard a loud metallic snap then a grinding noise. It was still able to move under its own power but very slowly. I was about 2 blocks from the truck so 'I limped it home and up onto the trailer. I know I need to tear it apart and look for what broke, but anyone have a guess as to where to start? I'm seriously getting tired of this damn machine! 750 miles on it and already replaced the belt, wet clutch, primary clutch, clutch roller weights among a few other things. Seriously, this friggin machine has spent more time on the lift than on the road. I thought I bought this new because it was from the owner of a tractor supply, but he registered it under the stores name making me the 2nd owner voiding any and all warranties.
      Any Ideas what to look for would be appreciated.

      I could really use some help identifying some disconnected components on a Yard Sport YS400. The first part is this pipe, which comes out of the exhaust port area or the cylinder. It looks like it had a piece of rubber hose on it, but the hose is gone, and I have no idea what it was previously connected to.

      The second item is this vacuum valve looking thing.  Again only one line is still attached.  What is it's function and what other lines should be connected to it?

      The last thing is this hose, which exits the side top of the fuel tank (not the fuel line hose) but is not connected to anything

       
      Any help the community could provide would be greatly appreciated.  This UTV belongs to a friend, and I am trying to help him get it running correctly for his kids.

      Going down a 20 deg hill engine is holding UTV back. Then something releases like going into Neutral and makes a loud clacking noise. Have to use brake to slow UTV down. Then once level it shifts back into gear. Have done shift extension does not pop out of gear.
