I purchased a new Landmaster EV lithium. I have only had the vehicle for 5 days. From nearly the first day, it intermittently would not start, either forward or reverse. After waiting a few minutes, it will go in reverse, but not forward. After a few more minutes, it will go forward. This happened several times over three days, and then it had a bigger problem. It would not go forward at all, and I had to drive it in reverse for 400 feet. About 30 minutes later, it could go forward. I called the dealer and told them to come and get it. Does anyone out there have this model? Are you having similar problems?

Update on this: The dealer picked up the machine, took it back. (they are 200 miles away). 2 days later they said they had duplicated the problem and found it is the back-forward switch.  It is on order. We'll see if that fixes it.

I have the same problem, delivered a week ago, worked fine till today, only 6 hours on display. Will go in reverse, going forward is intermitted. Switch in reverse, slowly engage the throttle, I hear a click, possibly inside the Motor Drive, the vehicle will go backwards.  Switch to forward, slowly engage the throttle, no click.  Will be contacting the dealer and the manufacturer.  Will keep you posted.

I hope you're closer than 200 miles away from the dealer. That could be a problem for parts or service, after the warranty has expired. Sounds like the exact same problem though, maybe the op can give an update.

Your problem is the forward reverse switch. It's easy to change, takes only a minute. Pry the old one out with a screwdriver, push the new one in. Tell your service manager to get one. When you take the old one out, you will notice the pole for the forward is bent, or off center. It's a defective switch from the factory. I had to replace two of them before I got a good one. I think its a pretty widespread problem, thought it was over with. Lionel

Hi All,

I got the problem solved in early September, here is what happened.

The Forward/Reverse switch was the problem, the Forward with not engage unless you over rotate the switch to hear the click.

So, I contacted the dealer to get a new switch, would need to bring the Landmaster in for warranty repair, that was not happen.  The I contacted Landmaster, via email, and explained the problem.  Landmaster sent me a new switch, problem solved.

Now, and a new problem, will do a new post.

I'm working with a 2015 MSU-500.  Basic symptoms are it cranks well, but will not fire.  It has spark, and it has fuel spraying out of the injector (and spraying starting fluid into the throttle body and plug hole makes no difference).  It has compression.  I bought it not running, and no other information was available.  It has 775 miles on it and 127 hours.  It looks to be in very good shape.   Previous owner replaced fuel pump, ECU, coil, plug, and the fuse/relay box that mounts on the firewall, then gave up.
My questions relate to cam/valve timing, considering the symptoms and diagnostics so far.  My thinking was the woodruff key sheared off and the crank spun, making it out of time.  My question is, by the pictures attached does anyone have an opinion as to the cam/valve timing being correct?  In the crankshaft picture you can see a timing mark visible.  In the camshaft picture I have arrows directed towards what I think are timing marks (which appear to be exactly 180 degrees from one another).  However, the long arrow in what appears to be bolt configuration in line with the piston/rod line.  Here is a puzzling note... in the position you see in the pictures... I have valve lash on both the intake and exhaust.  I think it's at TDC, given the visible crank timing mark and valve lash on both valves.
Any thoughts ?  Does this appear to be in proper valve time ?  Have I missed anything simple ?  Thanks in advance for your input.

I want to ditch my Kubota RTV-XG850 and its moronic twitchy throttle design flaw, get rid of the problematic engine and the 40 mph purposely throttled speed.
So far, I'm looking at the Honda Pioneer 1000 and the Polaris Ranger 1000, both of which have 1000-1500 lb payload bed capacity.
What other makes and models should I be looking at?

      Thanks for the help!

I had to remove the relay for the dump bed due to it popping the fuse for main key power. I have tried to find a short but nothing seems to out of normal. I also disconnected the dump motor and switch and still pops the fuse. Also, when the machine is warmed up i get about 5 to 10 of work out of before it stalls. Once I can get it to start again I have to use the choke to keep it running.

My Axis 500 has been operating properly for almost a year with Zero problems. While I was away my granddaughter & friends were riding & playing in the snow. They went to the gas station to fill the tank & the vehicle would not start afterwards. I BEEN GIVING MULTIPLE STORIES: The ATV will not start. When I turn the key I can hear the fuel pump come on but nothing happens other than that.
      - NO CLICK - NO OTHER NOISE
      *I CHECKED THE BATTERY 12.43volts
*I replaced the solenoid inside the battery compartment.
Seems the next electrical component in line has battery connections IN & motor connections OUT with 2 other small wires connectedaswell(I do not know the name of this component).
      Can anyone help?
I can not find an ordered list of electronic components starting at the battery.
      Can anyone help with this?
Thanks in advance for any help.

As with any forum you join, there is a requirement for an obligatory introduction... and that seems fair. How else do you get that first post in there without jumping in with some stupid question right out of nowhere?

Hi. I'm Space Ghost. Well, not really, but that was my call sign on my last deployment before an IED made me non-deployable, and I an now retired/disabled, and living on my wonderful VA disability. I did almost 28 years in total between the Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard. 1 deployment with the Reserve (Desert Storm) and 3 with the Guard (1 pre, and 2 post 9/11)

Married (going on 30 years) one of each. (both out of the nest)

Just picked up my first side by side a couple days ago. A 2020 Can-Am Defender HD10 DPS 6x6.

It's in pretty good shape, but as you can probably tell, it's sitting a bit high. Former owner put a lifting collar on the shocks.

The good = almost 17" of ground clearance. (30" tires)
The bad = incredibly steep driveline angles, and a pretty stiff ride.

      They will be coming off.

Other than that... clean as a pin and appears very well maintained.

Looking forward to seeing what this forum can bring, and hoping I can bring something in return.
