Joyner 650cc Utv Rectifier Regulator wiring

I have purchased a 650cc Utv that is in good mechanical condition but the Electrical system is a mess and is not my strong suit. I have purchased a new Regulator, coil and Distributer but I am having trouble wiring it all up as some of the wiring has been cut and removed. I have found a wiring diagram on line but is not colour coded.

My first job, of many, is to connect up the Rectifier Regulator. On the wiring diagram it has 3 wires running to the alternator (2 only wires currently as pictured but 3 pin plug) and one wire running to the positive of the coil.

Can anyone advise what wires goes where please? I assume the red wire from the rectifier will run to the +coil.

Regards Mark

I think on my machine I ran into the problem where the color of the wires changed.

I had replaced the regulator as well but was just able to plug it in.  do you not have a connector or just loose wires??

My issue was the connector plug up by the alternator (not on the alternator). The pins were so small they were not making contact anymore within the connector to be able to charge the  battery.

Looks like three wires go to the alternator.  You should be able to check continuity between the alternator and the wires you have at the regulator.

I can take a look when I am home to see if any colors are visible on my machine.

Unfortunately the plug was cut and like you said the wire colours don't match up. I have managed to work out the rest of the wiring but the regulator has got me stumped.

Anyone know anything about the Massimo Warrior 1000 MXD Crew UTV? I like the look but don't know anyone that owns one. All feedback is appreciated.

starts up you have keep rpms up for 5 minutes till it warms up then runs fine. But if it stalls wont start unless you unplug fuel pump and hold it to the floor till it starts then plug pump back in and run it till it warms up then it is fine all day.

      Hello All...
Just bought a 2014 Massimo 500 UTV.  It;s not running at the moment, but hopefully will soon.  I need a seat for it also (passenger side, if it makes any difference.)  It is a crank-but no start situation.  Just now starting to read the boards for solutions.  Apparently these models are well known for this issue.  If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to chime in, it would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks

Unfortunately my rear Diff housing cracked on my 2013 and I need to replace it or find a good used complete differential.  I think the same one was used from 2013-2016?  Any help or referrals appreciated.  Thanks, Gary  (949)370-2575 (in UT)
