Hi,

Anyone know how to acquire a service manual for the 2013 800? Just looking for something that describes normal maintenance like changing the gear box or diff oils etc.

What about using the 2013 Can Am Commander service manual for all engine and trans related? I read somewhere that the 2013 ODES used the BRP powertrain? Anyone confirm?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks Travis. I had found the manualslib link and its helpful but didnt get into much beyond the eng and gear box oils so the other link you sent might serve better. Much appreciated.

Any confirmation if the powertrain in this year of the 800 is actually the BRP (Can Am) unit?

What about the clutch? Is that a common brand or something unique to the ODES?

Thanks ElbowRoom for the link but how do I know that the Dominator X (Debuted in 2015) is the same as my 2013 as related to the eng and trans? I remember reading where it sounded like the ODES started off using the BRP Rotax and switched later in there own drivetrain or no truth in that?

All the manuals that I have found are not specific to the 2013 and so far what I am finding is that the newer ODES recommends GL-4 SAE 90 for the gear box. The BRP Rotax all the way back to 2011 recommends the GL-5 75W-140 for the gear box. From what I know you cannot mix and match those oils as the additives in the GL-5 will eat up the internals of a gearbox designed for GL-4.

Thanks.

One more thought...is the original 2013 ODES 800 just look like a BRP Rotax and not really the same? I can tell you that I ordered the same oil filter and O ring for the BRP Rotax 800R and everything fit up nicely. That doesnt mean the internals are the same but just curious if anyone can confirm.

The more I think about it maybe this is really what is going on that the ODES is a rip off of the BRP Rotax but not necessarily using the same quality or guts?

Thanks.

Actually ElbowRoom I went back to your link and found a 2014 manual and its for sure different than the later versions. It references XPS oil which is BRP (Can Am) so that is what I am going with for the gearbox and engine.

The diffs I will go with the what the 2014 manual references which is SAE 80 or something close.

Thanks to all for the help.

We have a 2018 Cub Cadet Challenger 400 and I found this Internally Threaded Bolt with a 10mm head size laying in the floor of the shop bay here on our ranch where we park the Cub Cadet.
Trying to figure out where it belongs...

I've had a Hisun Vector E1 for just a bit longer than is required for me to do some maintenance. While it's well-overdue, it only drives 1.5km a few times each week on a fairly decent gravel road (to the letterbox), and it has worked really well right from the get-go.
Looking at the manual it states that I need to use SAE80 API GL-4 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Main gear Case, and SAE80 API GL-5 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Front gear Case - unfortunately i can't find either of those online here in Australia. Plenty of options that look close, but, as someone who has never driven any vehicle before, I want to use the right thing and it's a tad confusing.
My question: Since there are no oils that are bang on SAE80 (they all seem to cover a range) would Liqui Moly Hypoid GL4 Gear Oil 80W-90  & Motorex Hypoid GL-5 Gear Oil 80W90 - be ok to use? (Or any other suggestions of what I might be able to purchase online in Australia) And would I have to drain out any existing oil from both gear cases?
This is a whole new world for me and  being able to find exactly what is specified in the manual hasn't made this easy!

I have a 2017 Intimidator XD4 800cc 4x4.  It will run great and then it's like it goes into safe mode and only runs on 1 cylinder.  It's not fouling out the plug when it happens.  Some times when I stop and restart it, it works fine.  First I thought it was a spark issue, then a fuel issue, but I feel like it's a short in the wiring some place.
