2021 Hisun Axis 700

I just picked one up brand new at Lowe's last Sunday and I'm trying to carefully go through the break in time and I just noticed to day it's throwing fault codes.

I noticed the codes while riding so it was already warmed up and working normally. Have no clue what all that means.....

Hey Rick,

It's strange it would throw so many random codes. I know it will throw the first two if you leave the key in the on position with the engine not running for a few minutes, not sure about the rest. Was it still running (seemingly) normally? I wonder if they're old codes.

I would probably start at battery cables, and then on the cables going into the ECU and work my way thru the EFI harness (especially all the sensors) looking for anything loose, corroded, or bent.

I have a post in the coleman forum that explains how to use HUD ECU hacker to see what the ECU sees that may be helpful in tracking down a random issue like this. It will also allow you to see pending codes, clear codes, etc.

Thanks. I was hoping you'd see this and reply. :) I read some of your other posts and you seem to be very knowledgeable on Hisun. During my rebuild on the 2009 700, I squirted silicon grease into the electrical connectors, after cleaning them up with WD40 I think. Would it be good to do the grease on these new fittings, too?

I don't even know what that IAT or MIL thing is. TPS, I understand is Throttle Position Sensor but I haven't a clue where all these sensors are.  I have zero experience with this new stuff. I spent the last 18 months or so rebuilding a 2009 Hisun 700 and it doesn't have this computer stuff. I suppose I'll just go through and look at all the wiring I can get to and re-seat the connections...

They're pretty much all on/around the throttle body area. IAT is intake air temp it's a shared sensor with the MAPlb the suction side the throttle body.

You can use a small amount of dielectric grease to help seal the connectors, don't need any on the physical connections themselves.

 

Like I mentioned the errors seem to be all over the place which leads me to suspect a weak ground or other shared electrical connection, rather than a specific sensor.

I'm hardly a hisun expert, bit I have a good logical troubeshooting process (rather than throwing parts) and am happy to help where I can. Let me know how it goes and we can try to troubleshoot further.

Well the last two days it hasn't thrown any codes at all. I did notice a 351 and one other one I forget, when I leave the key on like you said. Otherwise it seems ok. I still need to go through it with a fine-tooth comb and check all the connections. And the bolts, for that matter.

      I have a 2021 Massimo MXU 1000.  Last winter the front drive shaft sheared off inside the motor and it was cheaper to buy a new motor than to take it apart in order to remove the front drive shaft that was broken inside the case…
      Now it is running rich, seems to maybe be geared too high, does not accelerate well once you hit about 28mph.  I’ve replaced the O2 sensor.  MAF is next (I accidentally ordered the wrong one, but when I removed the old one you can clearly smell fuel).  
       I’m not a motorhead but I can turn a wrench.  Any ideas how to get this motor optimized?  The motor has about 300 miles on it.  I broke it in as recommended in the manual.

      Hey Team, our issue is not as bad as some I've read here...  We put some songs one a 64GB USB stick, plugged it in and the USB icon is still greyed out and won't let you select.  Any suggestions?  All the songs are in the root directory.  Thanks, Kevin & Shelbie

      Just received delivery of a 2024 AMP Pro.  Thought I'd start a thread with my impressions as I use it and learn more.  There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of real-world usage information out there on this model.  Hope this will help others as they research.
      Intended Use Cases
      Fire mitigation / slash removal from a 5 acre forested and well-gamble-oaked property.  The previous owners thought as much about fire mitigation as I do about fashion: not much. Snow removal Stump pulling General hauling (rock, lumber, etc.) Weimaraner energy depletion.  Wasn't an original use case, but a nice added bonus.  Experiences So Far
      Wasn't impressed that two of the bumpers on the underside of the bed where it sits upon the frame were missing.  The metal on metal contact has damaged the powder coating and the frame.  I expect a little better QC.
      I've only put a few hours on it, so not a ton to report on usage.  It isn't quiet; it's silent.  I can't even detect an electric note from the motor. I removed (and subsequently replaced) the motor cover noticed that the motor is German and made by Schambuller.  The motor controller is Italian and made by Dana TM4.  Given the operating specs of both I found on the web, I suspect both are higher quality than the previous Navitas (which is supposed to be decent).  The motor is rated at 25 hp and 71.5 lb-ft of torque.  It feels very powerful.  All the torque is delivered instantly, if desired.
      The bed is huge and has an electric dump as standard.  Great feature but would like it to go up a bit more.  Probably not feasible from an engineering perspective, but I want and I need ;).
      Power steering is nice, but vague.  Probably common to many UTVs, but I am accustomed to more direct results from input.  Plan early and plan often.
      In our first full day of usage, we hauled about 1/2 as much slash as the entire rest of the year when I was doing it by hand cart.  I may get fatter, but I'll also get more done.  After a few days of usage, the battery meter has gone down by 1/10th.

      Just picked up a Hisun 500 that had shift issues (corroded fan gear) which I fixed. It also didn't seem to be running smoothly then all of a sudden it got worse. It seems to miss on both idle and when pushing the gas pedal to the floor and doesn't seem to be running at full power. I've been working with a local person who is walking me through some steps, but I'd like some input from this group as well. What I've done:
      - drained the fuel tank and replaced it with 93 octane fuel and added heet to help with any water problems.
      - replaced the fuel injector.
      - disconnected the battery (several times) to allow the module to reset.
      - set the valve clearance, both intake and exhaust, within specs ... intake was tight but exhaust seemed fine.
      - replaced the battery.
      - replaced the O2 sensor.
      Nothing has helped. Not sure what the next steps are, but would appreciate any expertise that can be offered here.

      My wife accidentally ran the Axis 500 into a fence and tore the front end up (broke her arm too). Just wondering where the best place to get front end parts? I know she busted the knuckle but haven’t jacked it up yet. Thanks guys for any help!
